Will dropping the remains from cleaning fish in the lake attract snakes to your dock?

Worst you could do is accidently leave fish on the bank or on the dock that will bring the snakes in. I wouldn't think that would bring them in if you throw all the scraps in the water. I think it has to do more with what is surrounding your dock. What kind of shoreline and brush is there. If the snakes still show then they are already there

Thanks for the info. The shore line is clean and is a rock wall. I have not seen a snake in the two years we have had the place till last weekend. Our neighbor said a large snake swam by his dock and then later I had a 2'Green snake climb up the lattec on the screen porch. I keep everything picked up and the yard mowed to defend agianst them. I don't want to have to kill them but I will if I see them. I was never scared of snakes till a little runnin with a rattler a few years ago. I will admit I am now scared of them.

As far as I know, snakes aren't scavengers at all.
But then again, I was wrong once...

A green snake eats lizards, small frogs , insects , etc. You can pick one up without worry. They don't bite unless you're hurting them and even then their teeth are too small to do any damage. They make pretty good pets with the proper setup.
Not trying to sound like a Democrat. Just sayin'. You live near water so you're never gonna get rid of all the snakes. The best you can do ( other than keeping the grass and brush trimmed) is make sure you and your family learn to identify the poisonous ones in case of emergency.

I don't want any kind of snake around. If I am sitting on the dock having a cold beer and one crawls across my foot it just as well be a coppermouthedrattlingstrickter, cause I will have a heart attack. All snakes are poisonous to the heart.
