I don't dislike the guy! He's a heck of an angler. Can usually catch them, just having an off season. One of the best of all time

dont care for much of his off-water personality but he's the best angler of all time, he's not done winning classics

Could you tell me what you're talking about "off water antics"? I'm just curious, because I've never noticed anything negative, but wondering if I missed something? Nothing surprises me these day, however. Thanks.

Seems like a bung hole from the limited conversations I have had with him. I don't know if I like or dislike the guy cuz I don't know him.

I do enjoy watching him fish

The brusque simply comes from the demands on his time. Plus, when it's tournament time, he's FOCUSED big time. He'll stop and sign autographs and visit briefly, but that's about it. And all he's thinking about is the interview he's got to do, the sponsor obs and getting to his rig to prepare tackle for the next day.

Away from all that, he is awesome. Funny as heck, super smart, well-spoken and yes, a top notch family man. Extremely generous, too! I've been fortunate to get to hang around with Kevin due to my friendship with another Elite angler with whom KVD's very close. Those of you who say he's a jerk or whatever (and I understand that) could not be more wrong.

I've got a great photo on my puter with KVD and Kriet from the Classic, but can't post it from work.

My opinion -

First off, excellent angler!

Secondly,
When your as busy and focused as he is, you don't have the time or energy to be as "personable" as so many people think you should be.

Often times when I'm fishing, I never hear a word anyone says to me. Later on I realize I'm not paying anyone attention, but the truth is, I'm so immeresed in fishing and the task my brain just won't function like that.(I'm also a man, we can only do one thing at a time...LOL)

I have a good feeling KVD feels the same way.

Daily Schedule - Wake up, get ready, launch boat, interview, fish 8 hours, weigh in, interview again, eat dinner, prepare boat for next day, try to sleep and REPEAT day in and day out! It will take the spunk right out of ya!

You can avoid having ulcers by adapting to the situation: If you fall in the mud puddle, check your pockets for fish. ~Unknown

Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.
