I am looking at getting a new rod. It will be used for everything and will be 6 foot MH or M. I already have a 6 foot medium heavy Shimano Clarus with a Curado on it. I was thinking about upgrading to either the Compre or the Lowrider. Which one would you prefer, or should I just stick with my Clarus? Thanks in advance for the help.

Compre or Lowrider would be an excellent choice. Compre rods are some of the best bang for your buck rods on the market and have a great warranty...

How does the lowrider compare to the Abu Garcia Vendetta?

if price is not a factor, you have opened your options up to some much better rods than these.

maybe i am misunderstanding you.

I have a couple of the Compre rods and love them. I use them for for finnesse t'riging. I have them matched with a reels that I have tuned to cast very light lures that would normally be thrown on spinning gear. The Compre's I use are 7' med action. When you first pick it up you would think there is no way it will handly a fish of any size. I have pulled many fish up to 8 lbs out of brush and trees on Falcon, Amistad, and Choke with them. Another rod to look at would also be the Shimano Crucial.

I have both of those--compre and lowriders...go with the falcon without a doubt..i now have about 8 lowriders, for every situation. the compre is not bad at all, but in my opinion doesnt compare to the falcons.

Anyone else? How does the lowrider balance with a curado?
