My last boat was a 2000 193DCX. I was amazed how well this boat drove in the wind. I would say the 203 is arguably the best handling model in rough water that Champion has ever built. I would still own a Champ if it wasn't for the deal that I got on my present rig....

I have had the 2000 Champion 191DC with 200HP Mercury out 3 times now in the 2 weekends I have owned it... I was a hard core Skeeter fan but this Champ is super nice at Choke when the wind picks up!! One heck of a good luck charm as I caught fish all day this past saturday!!! Sorry Skeeter, you are now a close 2nd! ![laugh laugh](/forums/images/graemlins/default/laugh.gif)

http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread?id=366410&page=1A good read whether you own a Champ or not. BBC also has some videoes from years past that are worth watching. They are under the Champion forum. I traded for a 2000 181 with a 2006 150 Optimax from Nichols Marine in Longview two years ago and...I made a good deal, for once. ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) Take care, Jim

i've had champ and two skeeters.... for a boat ride champ hands down best in the business, great ride and a great turning boat.
as far as fishing... well theres no comparison, gimme the skeet.
if I drove more than fished..I would own a champ.
but i fish more than drive.
as far as new champ vs old champ, I know being bought by stratos cant be a good thing.
two from a guy thats had both

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan
