It's a differnet store for sure. I have been there a few times but only to buy baits that I thought I had to have the next day.

I have shopped there every couple of months for many years. You are correct as they typically won't ask if you need help but they have always been helpful if you ask them something. Key even sold me one of his personal GLX's for a good discount when I mentioned that I liked the rods but they where out of my price range.

Not sure how you could equate not being asked if you needed help, to being ignored. Ignoring in my book would be if I asked them something and they blew me off. If you had a question, then you should have asked for help. Bashing them on a forum because they didn't ask you if you needed help doesn't help either of you.

I met those guys and they are the nicest gentlemen I've met in a while. I like it when I'm not bothered while looking around. If I want to talk to someone or need help, then I'll ask for it. To bash someone because they didn't hound you to buy something is truly not understood by me. The worst thing though is to get on a topic and promote another store when nothing about the topic was about them.

I was in there today as well. Good old fashioned fishing store with a knowledgable staff and many items you cannot get at the box stores.

Key has always been helpful when asked and has always respected my shopping when I've said nothing. Give them another try and this time ask a question or two. I'll bet you will leave with a different opinion.

i agree with fish magnet - i like a sales team that leaves me alone as well for the most part - and when i go into fishin world and ask a question we all end up talking for like 30 mintues

when i go in there (and i go in a lot because they have things there i can't really find other places and i take orders for specific items for my friends in my hometown) i tell them that i only have like 5 mintues so i've got to hurry

i usually end up talking with them for at least 10-15 minutes - many times up to 30 and i kill my lunch hour and have to end up getting drive through

maybe the guy that looked like "money" .......asked them a question

I try to support the little guy.They are the one on the front line getting the new stuff for us to try."Before the big stores copy them". Would never have seen the Sweet Beaver if not for the independent local stores.

Seriously,I had to ask them for what I was looking for. I just get the tackle I get,where I get it. It ain't personal. Just tell 'em what you are lookin' for.

Key and the crew are great folks. You guys just dont know how to take him. Key would do anything possible to help you out. Give him a chance....

I tried to ask several times but I could not even get a look and I am not going to interupt a conversation. One guy was just watching and listening to the coversation from behind the counter.....never would even make eye contact for a question.

Some people just dont know how good they have it, ya'll have more than a couple of places to buy tackle, some of us only have Wally world and academy to choose from.My closest BPS or Cabelas is 100 to 150 miles away and no such thing as MOM or POP shops here, Just be glad you dont live in Midland or Odessa 100-150 miles to the closest water that sucks lived there for 30 yrs.

Bad mouth all you want. They are good people and never, ever have they acted like you describe. I say sour grapes! Maybe all you complainers should walk in with a hello yourselves. Breaks the ice. I personally would prefer people leaving me alone unless I have a question.
