Have to agree on this one. The man is correct! If its legal and withing the law, your fish.
Keeping a legal fish is not against the Game-Laws. Cutting legal Trot-Lines is. So,
think about it from all sides.

As I was told by a close mutual friend...This fish was caught about two cast after the other angler in the boat caught a 10.5. They went to weigh it and pulled the fish out to weigh it at the scales and it didn't make the Sharelunker program. Hum!? The guys got to thinking after they got back to the boat and said...wait a minute that was the small fish!? So they checked the livewell and pulled the other one out and when they went walked back into the store...well you can imagine the jaws dropping!!!

Just so happens that the TPWD were on there way back to Ive transporting some fish back to the lake.

Hint...Blue Flake...

In case some of us have forgotten, even LMB are stocked in our lakes for the taking/eating. We shouldn't look down out nose at those that want to eat their catch. I'm a catch and release fisherman and also fish five tournaments a month. The tournament mortality rate for bass is way to high in my opinion. We definitely need to improve. So a few folks taking fish home to eat should be no problem with anybody.

They came in and said they had a fish that they thought was a SAL, we weighed the fish she went 10.5 they were sure they had right fish. A few minutes later they came back and said can you weigh another fish we think we have a bigger one. When I saw her my jaw hit the floor I`m sure, biggest fish I had ever seen. We weighed her put her in the tank and fortunately TPWD was on the way returning spawned out SAL to the lake so they picked her up within 3 hours.

It's funny how people almost get offended when a lake is compared to fork. I hope Ivie is never like Fork. I live 35 min from Fork and don't fish it much at all. I hope Ivie never becomes a Fork!!! There's way too many .@@@@holes on that lake and way too many wana-be guides. It's nice that Ivie is so far away from the metro-plex and off the beaten path, maybe it'll keep all that stuff away that kindof ruins Fork.

It wasn't too long ago that a big fish tourny on Ivie produced over 30 fish over 9 lbs. All those 9s are grown up now and still growing. I would not be surprised if the State record falls to Ivie pretty soon!!

Seriously I mean no disrespect to all the legit guides that are on Fork and they know who they are.

Fork has become a mess at times...but...It still produces!!!

There are several lakes that have a hord of guides also, you just have to stick to the ones that have developed a respectable reputation right here on the TFF!!!
