Trying to get my launch plan (Concho or Elm Creek) set for Sat and/or Sun and rather not compete for ramp space. Anyone know?

For the most part you should not have any problem getting your boat launche. Concho has a couple extra ramps to the north of the park. But depending on the amount of people and how early you put in you should be fine. The other thing to remember if you plan on fishing the main lake , Elm creek is a better area to put in. And the rivers, well concho park is your place. We went last week and my brother caught and 12, dad a 9 +, and a buddy of ours caught a 7. Me, lets just say I thought I'd let them catch all the fish while I watched. Good Luck.

I know of 4 tournaments saturday. Our club will launch from elm creek and we will have about 70 people. I believe there is a team tournament with atleast 35 teams, another local club with around 30 people, and I heard there is a warren cat tournament..... I dont know how many people fish that. All of these are on saturday.... I dont know where the other tournaments are launching from.

Thanks. Just wanted to see if any large tournys were gonna be launching from either Concho or Elm Creek, especially since I'll prob be launching solo this weekend. Sounds like your family had a good trip last week. Were you fishing main lake or up the rivers?

Still waters will be there with about 60-75 boats

Taking 5 to the weigh-in occurs when opportunity meets successful execution of one's preparation.

Jr. bassmasters will be there (concho) only about 30 boats.
Does anyone know if any of the other ones are open tournaments?

Thanks all who responded. Guess I'll be putting in at zero-dark-thirty to escape the boat ramp-age, unless there is an open tournament to get into that TeamBigStick first asked about. Jerry? Any opens this weekend?

Elliot Electric is having a tournament there Saturday too. They said they will be launching at Concho. I think they were having around 40 to 50 boats.

Sounds like there will be around 300 tournament boats and probably will be another 500 non-tournament boats there this weekend. smile smile smile Should be able to fish all the way across the main lake just by stepping from one boat to another. smile smile

I was coming down Saturday to take my 6 year old grandson fishing. Sounds like I might just need to think about another lake for him to go with me to. frown

Hag, Twin Buttes here in town has picked up a little water and I and some buddies vacuum-packed a limit of whites one eve last week. Might be a good option for you and the grandson unless you plan on deploying the boat fenders and wearing soft-soled shoes for cross-deck hopping (like I will be doing) at Ivie this weekend!

And I just thought it was bad there last weekend. smile There were 6 boats in a 50 yard circle, tied to trees, in a spot I lost a double digit the weekend before. I went way, way, way up the river and still found boats up there. smile
