I have always used left handed reels, wondering why would anyone sacrafise losing a fish while their jig is falling cause they didnt feel the bit while switching hands?

I am right handed and can use either, but I usually buy left hand reels, because they are usually clearanced much cheaper. i purchased some of the old creen curados for $63 each from Cabellas when they were clearancing them out. I wish I would have bought more. I can fish faster than my partners, no changing hands. Makes sense. I grew up using a spinnin reel and it was a natural conversion.

I am right handed and and i can not for the life of me reel in with my right hand. I have to reel left and hold the rod with my right. It just seems more natural to me and and holding the rod right handed makes catching bigger fish easier cuz i have a firmer grip. Dont know if this counts, but when i go bowling i bowl with my right hand but spin the ball as a left handed person would. So maybe im just a little backwards?!

Im a righty and have always used left handed reels. I was taught to never switch hands while casting from my grandfather. I first learned how to cast left handed and it seems like second nature now. Its also very handy when your friend needs to borrow a rod.

I'm a right hander and use both left and right hand reels. I pitch and flip with the leftys and crank with the right handers. Try as I might I can't get used to using the left hand reels for crank intensive methods.

I like the fact that I can control a bait instantly when it hits the water with the left crank and also track and work the bait better. However it is hard on my right arm which is trained to the right handed crank. I was pretty sore in my fingers even feeling it in my elbow after yesterday's outing. I am going to use the left crank a few hrs a day to see if I can get more used to it.

I am right handed and all of my set ups are left handed. I grew up on spinning reels so left handed always felt natural. When I tried my first bait caster, it was too unnatural to reel with my right hand. So now everthing I use is left handed. Just makes the most sence to me.

LH reels are the True RH Reel setup. All I fish with since Shimano made a point to add them to their lineup on a regular basis. I keep my dominant arm/hand on the rod at all times. Much faster now with things. Don't have to switch over to set the hook. Better Coordination with the dominant hand is the main thing.
