Well, it is no Skeeter but it could be what I will call my first boat.. $300 for the boat, trailer, and motor.. Obviously needs some money to invest into.. But is it worth that price and would it be a good start?? (Everything that you need to "put" it together is tosses in the boat)

Catch and Release fishing is a lot like golf. You don't have to eat the ball to have a good time.

here's my 02.cts--- save your money, you'll have no time to fish, that boat looks like a full time job. if you have to have it make sure it floats and runs. good luck. fred c.

I see the cheap and terrible shape but with a LOT of time you might have a fully functional bass boat

it looks completely taken apart...

I've got a similar boat that just needs batteries and about two hours of easy fiberglass work that's otherwise ready to go in the water. I'll sell it to you for less than it'll cost you to buy that one and get it ready.

It isn't $300, but on the other hand you can go fishing this year.

I've got a friend that bought a 72 Cobra Hollywood for that much and it ran like a top. Wait to fix a boat up for when you're older. Get a Jon boat and an outboard to start if you have to and throw it in the back of the truck till you can afford a trailer. That $300.00 boat will probably cost 3-4 times that much in "fixing up" and the insurance alone is gonna cost you the price of the boat.

Unless you know fiberglass repair, wiring and engine repair. you're looking a more work than you probably want to invest.

No need to tell me the boat is a piece of @!#@.. I can see that.. My question was is it worth it.. Not to be rude about it..
I'm not the richest kid on this forum nor am I making an excuse, but since this boat is obviously not worth it.. Can anyone guide me to a website other than craigslist where I can take a look at some boats? Or even sell me one? I don't have money right now, I'm just looking into the future a bit until I can save some up.. Thanks.

Man, If you got plenty of time on your hands go for it. The worst that can happen is the motor dont run...If it floats. Take a paddle or two to the boat dock and drop her in the lake for a little while and see what happens. If she dont leak then you know once you get done it may be worth the time. Screw it man, Have fun with it, You'll probly learn a ton workin on it.

I saw a few on craigslist for around $750 or less in much better shape. That boat I would not take for free. You are asking for guidance, that would be a poor use of $300. Get a canoe or a yak and be done with it if money is that tight.

I'm looking at craigslist right now, it's really not putting money into it for boats on there that claim to run fine.

Start with a good trolling motor and deep cycle batter and you can fish near boat ramps on the weekends and work on it during the week. There are usually good spots near launches (especially where tournaments are held). This is how I started as a teenager before I had an outboard. Caught a lot of fish and had a lot of good times. Bottom line, if it is all you can afford keep it.

bass busters are awesome first boats...I had one with a trolling motor and caught tons of fish out of it. You can even get a good deal on a 5hp motor some times...I found one on here for $150.

My buddy Ron might be selling his buster, trailer and 5hp soon...I will send him your way if you are interested.
