Due to the request of members of the TFF to offer the MINOMAX in colors other white, we are now producing a limited supply in dark green netting and will be adding dark brown ASAP. Thank you for the feedback in improving the product.

kris48, There is no difference in pricing for the colored units. The additional cost of the netting to us is not being passed on to the consumer. The listed price on the Website is $39.99 each + $4.99 packaging and shipping. Unfortunatly, TX residents have to pay sales tax because we are a Texas corporation. Email me before you order so I can make sure you get the color you want. Our web URL is: www.minomax.comThanks for asking, john.minomax@gmail.com

Congratulations, on a great product. I have tried minnow trap after minnow trap with no luck. Took the maxmino out last night and caught minnows on almost every cast. Office aquarium looks, like a reflection of the lake. Thanks!

Anybody have luck with the Minomax yet? Inquiring minds want to know.

I buy them at the bait shop and put them in a minnow bucket.

Have any of you ever had the G W measure your seine ?
I've seen then check the catch for game fish...
I think Texas allows 3 x 20'
Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

TPWD regulations: Seine: A section of non-metallic mesh webbing, with the top edge buoyed upwards by a floatline and the bottom edge weighted. Includes a push net.
* May be used to take NONGAME fish and shrimp only. * May not be longer than 20 feet. * May not have mesh exceeding 1/2-inch square. * Must be manually operated. * In SALT WATER, nongame fish may be taken by seine for bait purposes only.

Anybody have luck with the Minomax yet? Inquiring minds want to know. For less than $9 bucks I just bought a conventional 5-foot radius cast net from Academy (on sale). Watched some videos on u-tube and found it not so difficult to use after all! Still, I need practice but I'm done with store bought bait!

used seines a lot as a kid; mostly in streams and ponds. It is the easiest way to get bait (other than buying) BUT it works best with two men. A one man operation is possible but more difficult. (drive one pole into the bank and sweep out a semi-circle; then grab as much bait as you can )

Well, at the end of the day, after over 20 posts in this thread and several attempts to have those that have used Minomax with any success report on the results, I'm hearing VERY little.
Before I'm going to throw down some money on this little gadget, I'd kind of like to know if it actually produces results. Lord knows that I have enough stuff in my garage and office that I bought thinking "hey this looks pretty cool" only to find out that what looks good "in theory" doesn't work worth a damn in reality.
So, if you bought a MinoMax and are happy with it, TFF readers on here would like to know. Better yet, post a video so we can see you using it and catching minnows.
Otherwise for me, it's either the baitstore or the one-man seine net operation.

SlabHappy, I've looked at the website but have not tried it out or handled the product myself. My gut feel is that it works but you have to cast many times to get a decent haul because the mouth of the net is pretty small. It looks to be only 18" x 18" x 18" so that's no comparison against a 10' minnow seine. Also, minnows tend to be shallow, so there's no advantage to being able to go deep with the minomax.
About the only advantage I see is that I won't get wet, esp in the winter, but I might just put on a pair of waders instead. It's $44 for the minomax so it's a bit pricey. It looks like a good product and I'd give it a try if it was at most $20 (or my wife will give me hell).
Just my 2 cents.

Good observations Woolybugger. When I first heard about it, I thought that since I often go out by myself that it would be cool since it's a one man operation as opposed to a siene net which is generally a two man deal (unless you anchor one end). Lots of guys prefer a castnet - unfortunately have some physical limitations that prevent me from using one.
I'm not trying to bash the product at all - I think it looks like a potentially innovative design, but I think your observations are spot on. Kind of a surface area question as you've pointed out.
