I cant say that I have done a "cross their eyes" hookset as I mostly fly fish, but I wouldnt think a strong hookset would be any worse than kicking to move backwards and it is plenty stable for that. I have also made the pontoons longer which made it even more steady. (pics coming soon) I've got one for a test drive if you're interested.

I have a similar styrafoam kickboat and the longer length does make it more stable. I have used one that is 54" and it was fine but the 72" length is better. Its all just a matter of what will fit in your vehicle.

The above pontoons are about 58". They are sporting an optional 12" fiberglass cloth epoxied to the bottom for durability and a coat of paint to keep the water from soaking into the foam. Notice the "carcass" of foam leftover from cutting a circle out of a square. These blocks can be used for car-topping or for stacking one on top of another in a truck bed. Right on about the length Mister Sir.

You that worried about them falling apart or becoming water logged?? Wish I could see the new pics at work.. dang..
So how much weight do you think the new length can handle?

To be safe, I'd say 250 max. I am currently working on some with 66" pontoons. They'll hold more.

That ain't a bad price, have you considered shipping or how to? I'm in the truck freight business and stuff like that would be a challenge to move claim free. Im about 160 miles from Boyd
