MY Costas are on the bottom of Lake Grapevine. I bought a cheapo pair today to hold me over and realized how dependant I have gotten to good lenses. Just wondering is there anything out there comparable for less money considering the next pair could meet a similar fate.

i lost a pair of 6 year old costas and thought the same thing..then went ahead and bought another pair and that was 3 years ago.

two pairs of sunglasses in 9 years and counting isnt bad..... tend to take better care of the nice stuff.

You should take a look at Eye Surrender glasses. I've been really happy with mine and even prefer them to far more expensive glasses that I've owned. They've got good lenses and can take a beating.

I have had a pair of costas go in the lake also and another pair I accidently crushed didn't have enough to get the 580 lenses again so I got a pair of the regular costas for $90 and I think they work just as good as the ones with 580 lenses in them.

I've almost tried them all. Pound per pound I have found the Willey X's to be a good every day glass, middel of the road investment, and perform well on the water. Take into consideration the lake you fish most often. Certain glasses/lenses will perform well at amistad and not at Rayburn and vise versa.

Go ahead and get the Costas but get the straps that go from earpiece to earpiece and a foam float like for keys and attach it to the strap. test it in the shallows to make sure it floats them. Just my 2 cents

Costas, Im a pretty cheap guy, dont like to overpay for anything, much less just pay for a name. But sunglasses is where I will always spend extra on. Nothing like spending a day on the water with a crappy pair of glasses. Your eyes are important dont go cheap on them.

And you can find great deals on costa or other high end glasses on ebay or other online places!

I prefer the KAENON Hard Kore's! Ive owned several different pair of Oakley's and the Kaenon's are easily the best pair of shades i've ever owned!

I have found the Suncloud brand to be pretty reasonable and have served me well so far. I believe they are made by Maui Jim.

Corning makes suncloud, and they scratch easily...My costas are 5 years old, and no scratches, and no case...just put them in the glove box...these are my second pair, as I had some blow off my head. I will own nothing else. They are so scratch resistant, I can't see trying some new brand to see if they work. Best glass, warranty, looks, and proven performance that doesn't scratch unless you drop them on pavement real hard. I have never scratched a pair. just my opinion...
