I bought my LUND last November. A guide on this page tipped to it and I called the owner that day. The next day I took off work and met him on a lake halfway between Houston and Waco to test drive. Bought it that day. The boat was originally from White Bear Lake MN. I love my Lund more every time I use it. I tell you one thing that I really like, on idle it will turn around in its own length. Its like bow is nailed down and the motor goes around it. That is wonderful if your looking for a brushpile!
Lunds are rare down south but getting well known and in demand. Only Lund dealer in Texas is Advantage Marine. But keep your eye open and one will pop up. Let Joe know and maybe he can find you one. Or maybe a Crestliner. They look a lot like a Lund.
Good luck.

My 2003 Lund Pro Angler with a 4 stroke EFI 60hp Merc, rigged was $15k new. The $$ is in the motor, so if you can live with a tiller version. wink

This is a sweet boat, with Shorlandr trailer. You can get the same boat for more $ from Tracker when I was looking (not the same boat the Lund is a much better boat), I bought the boat from Soo Sports in Sioux Falls SD. Give them a call and they will meet you half way for you to pick up the boat. I would guess they sell more Lunds then most people, some places in Minnesota, Montana too, they seemed close.

And used Lunds:

a Sweet ride in the wind @ $15+k:

https://www.walleyecentral.com/classified/new/adviewer.jsp?adv=10820

This is close to my boat, this is 17' mine is 16'6". But the same.

No comparison between Tracker and Lund/Crestliner. Tracker can't hold a candle to either. Often, popularity is much more a function of marketing than quality, and BPS/Tracker is dominant in their market presence. Consider such things as McDonald's, Budweiser, Michael Jackson, and American Idol - very popular, but unquestionably low quality.

That said, I do think Tracker and Nitro have improved in quality over the last 10 years. They're just not as good as the top shelf products. Hard to beat a Lund.

Check out what the guides around here use. Chuck, Guy, Ernest, all have Lunds. After fishing with them, decided I wanted one too and started looking for used with no luck for many months. Looked on Craigslist and every time I saw one, it was gone before I could call for it. Looked in Minnesota Craigslist and could find literally hundreds of Lunds and some Crestliners and had almost decided to make the trip and haul one back when I finally found a brand new ad on CL, called the guy before the ad was an hour old and bought it that day. And I love that boat!

Jsplinter, please don't forget to come back here and tell us about your LUND?

BTW LUND has a page on their site called "Love my LUND". Go read the letters that they have received from LUND owners over the years. I wrote one to them last week. Maybe it will be posted there someday.

Thank you for your service. Where are you stationed now and where are you deploying. What do you do for the USAF?
My son went to the Mid-East last year on deployment and is going to Berlin in June for an airshow with USAF.

Yes Jsplinter thank you for serving. When you get back send me a PM and I would be happy to help in any way I can, if that means taking you fishing in my Lund for a demo, so be it. wink
