IMO,they took alot of our money on the mag. I wouldn't use their bait even if it were as good as sure shot or big marv's. Nobody should reward the rip-offs Imo.

I would like to try the "SureShot" but not a catfish fan when it comes to fish I like to eat; crappie and bass taste the best... OK not trying to start any fights; I eat catfish all the time but prefer crappie over all other freshwater fish.

Anyway I was searching the site for "SureShot" and "DannyKing" and found this post; just wanted to add I have used DK but will tell you one thing for sure; several years ago when I was 1st introduced to it, a friend of mine went to Gibbons Creek and had great success with it; then after some time went by and I found it all over the place the product had 100% changed to a mass produced item that was no where near what I first used.

I have not had the same results since... I think the product quality reduced dramatically and it may have become stagnant for fishing Gibbons.

I will say that I haven't looked at the Bait Barn in Bryan or Academy or Gander for the "SureShot" but do prefer the get bait as I need it; I'm wasteful when it comes to buying catfish bait and don't want 5 gallon buckets of it sitting around my house.

Has the "Sureshot" become commercial at all to be found in bait shops?

Anyone know where if possible to get it in Bryan/College Station?

That would be my question too. I got stuck with 4 of the large buckets of it..over 30 lbs...it was light pink half cotton like fiber that swelled and rinsed almost instantly.
Not the good stuff I was used to. As such I hadn't used it for two seasons now.

Instead I used Primo super sticky Dip bait. I prefer Punch bait over dip bait. So when Team Catfish come out with a punch bait I was thrilled.
Ive ordered some Sudden impact(128oz) and anticipating the channel cat fury/spawn this year.

I found the CJ's at Academy... Minnow Punch Bait; hope it works at Gibbons Creek. would have liked to have got "shad" because I would think it would better; anyone got a preference or think one "flavor" is better than another with CJ's ?

Should work about the same. I will be at Gibbons this weekend as well.

Little heads up for the cat fans near Abilene(at least 50 mile radius)
DK's blood mix is dropping the hammer on most ever lake around.
Stuff "W E R K S " stringers prove the product will catch fish!

I use secret 7 all the time and I ordered a bucket of the sudden impact and tried it last weekend and it is great. stays on the hook like they say. Tried it at Calaveras lake past tuesday and landed 4 nice cats. They are the best on shipping. I order on Sunday and it is at my house on Wednesday. Great People.

I talked to a guy at a bait shop who was "in" with the Danny King group and he said about two years ago they changed the way they made it and raised the prices

No luck with the Sudden Impact yet, 0 for 3 trips.Fishing it shallow under slip cork/#2/#4/#6 trebbles.
But then honestly I really haven't been targeting the channels much which is what I purchased the bait for. Haven't got any channels with the cut shad either...so I Cant blame the bait, they just are not in the spots I been/have hammering in past years as of yet.I'm sure that will change in a couple weeks and about another 5 -10 degrees of water temp.. cool

DK's is the best we can purchase in this area, everything else is that "junk" from Walmarts.

DK's blood put 19 on the stringer this morning, smallest one was 18" the rest were over 22" in 4' of water.
Did get one blue to hit a shad head,it was a male and 10-12lb.
Slow on this windy day but steady enough to keep ya fishin.

I only started catfish fishing with a slip rig two years ago. So have only used DK for two years. Never had the chance to use the "good" stuff from several years ago. I will say that if I find the cats, DK's will catch them for me. Obviously if the fish are not there, nothing will catch them. But they like DK's. And it's convenient to get...Academy, BX, Wal-Mart, etc. In two years, 20 plus cat trips, when I have found the cats (not hard to do on Calaveras or Choke) I limit out, or catch a good mess all on DK's. It's a proven bait for me.
