Waxahachie is full of bed and breakfast inns, has the antique shops, and is close by. Gingerbread houses all over town.

I was surprised with a trip to a place near Grandbury. It is called Paluxy River Bed Cabins. Very quiet, out of the way place. Check their website out for information, but I will go there again, no doubt.

I do not know you your date but we have nice cabins and rooms on the upper end of Lake O Pines about 2.5 hrs from DFW. We have a canoe available on request for free. The upper end of the lake where we are has islands with lots of birds and good water for fishing or just relaxing without having someone on top of you. Our rooms have kitchenettes and have just been remodeled. Other than relaxing, fishing, boating, or hiking along the lake we do not offer much night life other than bright stars on dark nights over the lake. Happy 11th Steve
