fish the creek that comes down from the spillway for decent sized crappie in the big bends and pools. the pond off of research forest, right before 45 has great bass, and relatively easy shore access. love to fish spring creek under 45 just south of the mall too. any little neighborhood pond in the woodlands has bass in it. just have to put in the time to catch them! good luck

Spoke to the ranger the other day. Fishing from the dam is a trespassing ticket, but I have never seen or heard anyone actually getting a ticket for it. You also need a fishing license to fish bear branch and possibly the spillway as well(ranger wasn't sure about spillway). Apparently the game warden visits this lake quite a bit as well.

Also, noticed some comments on The Woodlands in general. Not sure how it used to be but people still catch fish: http://www.fishinginthewoodlands.com
