FUN FOR THR KIDS/GRANDKIDS. Small/medium mudcats are tearing up chicken livers fished on bottom with slip sinker at the old Colleyville fire house. Nothing over 10-12 inches, many smaller, but pretty much a guaranteed bite.

I saw a fly fishermen out this past week at CNC. Only thing I saw him catch was a few blue gill - but I think that's what he was targeting.

My grandkids caught about 20 mdcats (and 1 turtle) in about an hour at the old fire station

Fished CJC tonight and got two decent lmb and one large blue gill - using my favorites for there: white rooster tail and chartruse roadrunner. Grass is starting to grow and they're hugging the shore and in the grass

I went out on Saturday after the children's event but I couldn't find out which pond was stocked. 6 different ponds to choose from. Geesh!!! Anyone went out on Saturday?

If you're fishing for bullheads/channels (there are some good sized ones), I've found a big hunk of chicken liver fished on the bottom in the middle of the ponds, with an egg slip sinker is a good rig. To keep the liver on, I wrap a sandwich bag tie around the liver. Cats don't mind at all. It helps hold the liver on when you cast and prevents the cats from sucking it off your hook.
