Took my little buddy trout fishin on Grindstone lake in Ruidoso NM, after a couple of days skiing at Ski Apache. Got 8 the first day, Then the whole family went the next day and we got 29!! Sure are good eatin!!

Yep, went thru about 3 jars... I'm sure there are some fat trouts still out there. Grindstone never lets us down...

i bet it was awefully hard leaving that place. i went up to red river ski resort when i was about 13 or 14. it's nice up in the mountains with all them pine tree's & snow

Very cool... it's funny cause my family goes up to Ruidosa about every other year for Thanksgiving and I never thought to fish any of the lakes there cause I honestly did not think I would catch anything... I will have to try that next year!

Take a little spinning rig with 4-6lb line, and go to Western Auto on Meacham... Get ur license, some salmon eggs, #12 treble hooks, and go to Grindstone lake... We limit out just about every time we go. Its great. Bonito Lake has a lot better fish, but it is only open for fishing April 1st-Oct31.

When I about 12yrs old armed with a pole and hook and nothing else (i dug my worms as I needed them). My dad would drop me off at the creek running through town on his way to work in Mescalero and pick me up on his way home. A local Indian taught me how to sight fish and catch the trout. Man, good times. I'm 43 now.
