Ah now I see. Y'all wanted it put back so that y'all would have a chance to catch it. Shoulda been there before him I reckon. Like most that have said he shoulda put it back would have fished this small body of water anyways. Yeah right. Oh, wait a minute. Are y'all like the guys that wait for boat shows to gather then run full blast to it cause y'all caint find your own fish? yeah, that must be the ticket. Get over it. The guy did what he had a right to do. Congrats to him. Go catch your own trophy fish, take a pic, put it back then come on here and brag about what a good conservationist you are. That would be your right, but to dog on a guy cause he kept it is freakin childish, like someone else said earlier about me, "real mature". Flame away children!

How do you know if you keep a few one pounders to filet for dinner that you did'nt kill a 14lber that just has'nt grown up yet? Not knocking SAL program but very high probabilty it dies in their care anyway if he sends it on with them. I wish he had put it back......but only so I could catch it! Oh yea, congratulations on a catch of a lifetime!

i might be wrong but i heard that fish was floating and that guy picked it up.it was brought to the bait shop dead go figure.this is why we havent hurd to much about it.on other threads they said it was caught on the launch, but looking at the picture it was not.look at the truck no fishing equip,no poles and its a single cab truck so you know its not in the front seat.there is a lot of construction going on down there on homes, and his shirt is dirty.so a construction worker was down there working and saw this fish floating picked it up went to the bait store took pics.you cant get into the record books or sal program with a dead fish from shore.

My uncle has lived on the lake for 30 years that I know of. His son caught one that went a little over 10 lbs. That was at least 20 years ago though.

Wow I hope that you dont have children that you are teaching these virtues to (j.steve)the fish was put back last year so he could have this chance to catch her. I am very happy that this fish was caught again it was nice to see that she grew 2lbs in a years time. I hope that the guy that caught her is really proud. I know I was really proud to have caught her and realeased her last year. For those of you that dont believe it was the same fish, she weighed 12.64 last year you can call texas parks and wildlife on that. The fish the guy caught has the same scar's on her side and the bottom of her tail was scarred really bad. I have a fiberglass replica on my wall of this fish. It was my choice to release her last year and it was his choice to keep her this year, but heres the thing that bothers me.... That fish grew exactly 2lbs in one years time which means that she was still in the prime of her life she was a very young fish to be that big which means that Alvarado could have been the home of a state record in a few short years. Seriously to the guy that caught her Congrats. You have the new lake record if you got her to certified scales.Oh by the way I would have paid for two replicas to have seen you put that fish back in the lake but hey it was your choice.
