Well I thought I would post my experience with them yesterday. I bought a shimano cumara rod from them back in Feb. After I used it for awhile I realized I really did not like it and was going to take it back and exchange it or get a store credit. Well I was fishing with it monday and the tip broke. So I went in last night to exchange it for another rod. I asked them if I could exchange it for a different type of rod I wasn't happy with that one. I was told no, you can only get another one just like it. So I said ok exchange the rod and I will then in return give it back for store credit. They no we won't let you do that. Well in the past two weeks I have spent $3000.00 dollars in their store and to say the least I was not happy with them at all. After 20 minutes of arguing with the store manager she agreed to let me get the rod I wanted, although there was a cash difference of $40.00 which they owed me but she said they would give me any cash back, and that moraly it was wrong for them to exchange the rod at all. I would like to thank Mike the fishing manager who atleast said they should give me the rod I wanted. But man oh many I left there so pissed last night. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars in there over the past years and to be treated that way when last week I drop $3000. and last night they wanted to argue over a $250. rod. WOW.

My experience last night really makes you appreciate the smaller tackle companies that you can talk to the owner and people who really care about customer service. Such as Crucial tackle, I try to deal with stores such as Crucial every time I can. I had reserved going to Bass Pro for electronics and things like that. But after last night, I will never spend a dime in that store ever again. As a matter of fact I went to Cabellas after that because they were holding a structure scan unit for me that Bass Pro said they would have 3 weeks ago. They did have the structure scan unit but when I walked back to the marine section no one was there, I actualy had to walk all the way over into the clothing section to find someone who worked there to find out were my structure scan unit was at. Customer Service is harder and harder to find.

No offense but its almost April and you bought the rod in Feb.I can see their point that if you did not like it you waited too long to return it. Obviously you were using it as the tip broke. Imagine how many requests they get per day just like this one.
Sucks that it did not work out the way you wanted though.

True but, it's a 90 day return policy, except for that shimano which has a life time return. My main complaint was they had no issue returing the rod, and giving me a new one they just didn't want to take the new one they gave me and let me get somthing else.

Cabelas and BPS return policies have been taken advantage of so much in the past that this is just how it is when returning stuff. I dont care how big of a tackle store it is, when you bring in a rod that you broke they shouldnt give any credit unless its a clear manufacturing defect.

THE GRAPVINE BASS PRO STINKS AFTER DOING THAT TO YOU!

They are trying to get more customers this is a heck of a way to show it!

I live in weatherford it is a real pain to put up with bad traffic, let alone bad customer service.

I have taken and exchanged may thing a cabellas, no problems even on a $600 depth finder that was defective.

I was in basspro yesterday for a return and a Manager asked me if I wanted to enter ther sweeptakes.

I told him that I would rather go to cabellas than fight this trafic.

I nearly told him that I spent more time in the shrevepot store.

Never a problem at that location.

I has been 7-8 years between visits to his store.

Cabellas has beter customer service by far! thumb

One you build and fish with your own hand built custom rod you will fish with nothing else!

Why did you not like the rod? I am looking at getting one of them. I agreed customer service is really getting bad but you have to remember they have boss' too and you can complain to them. I have gotten better results going higher up.

When you walk in with your reciept for products you have purchased, that are broke when there is a life time return policy there should not be one problem. Consider the fact of just how much money I have spent in that store there is a wrong way and right way to treat people. When they pull up my history of purchases they can see just how much I have purchased in that store. When you treat people who were customers you won't keep them very long.

Not to mention that when I asked for my money back for the structure scan that they sold me that they never recieved. I was told it was against Bass Pro Shops policy for them to have ever sold me the unit in the first place since they did not have it on hand.

Its a lifetime warranty through the manufacture, not to store. Not trying to start an argument, just saying. The store doesnt want to take it back because i think their return policy is 30 days with the reciept and since its not a store warranty, its a shimano warranty.

no argument with you, I just didn't understand. They said I could have a new rod no problems there at all it just had to be the exact one. Which was more expensive than the rod I really wanted. In the end they agreed to give me the rod I wanted I told them they could keep the cash difference all I wanted was the rod.

Wow I can't believe that I stepped on a team daiwa worm rod and they took it back no questions asked and no reciept so I got an extra 120 buks just by not trashing a rod that was trash. They were really nice even showed me alo of sale items so I could get the most for my money.also I think that if you go in with the attitude that they owe you something and don't show them respect then you will be treated differently
