14 Pounder pulled out full of eggs on 3/18/10 .... I was at the bait shop when they brought her in ... the bait shop try to get them to put her back but they wanted to mount her ... I'm glad to see them catch a Great fish out of this small lake !! I was worried after last years dry spell. I'm headed out tomorrow !!

I wish the bait shop owner would have educated this guy on the SAL program or getting a Replica Mount. Man could have taken pictures, certified, measured and released her.
But he caught her, she was his so he could do what he wanted. It's just a shame that some people just don't know what can be done to preserve our fisheries.

I agree !! I wish he had put her back so that our lake could benifit from the eggs.. It's not a very big lake and needs to stay well stocked !!

The lake has benefited many, many times from her eggs. Ya think she didn't lay any till she was 14#? Come on guys use your head. Everything has an end and who is to say she wasn't to die this year in "LABOR". These threads worded to make someone that keeps a freakin bass seem like a DB, ignorant hick burns my arse. I hope I catch one like that cause chit like this makes me wanna use my digital camera to video me filleting one and sticking it on here.

Any person that thinks the biggest fish is a big deal, then THEN KILLS IT, is a doofus.
It's like killing the goose that lays the golden egg.

Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

I can understand if they were starving But if their not wouldnt you want to give someone else the chance to catch a trophy like that? sounds to me that you would only do that to piss some people off!! just my opinion

People have been keeping fish for years. That is the reason we have regulations and size limits. If a man catches a fish legally then it is his right to do with it what he wants. I for one being a catch and release fisherman wish he had put the fish back, but when I go after any other species of fish I keep them to eat myself. Yes, this probably makes others who feel strongly about Crappie, Sandies, Stripers, and Catfish want to say the same things to me, BUT THAT'S MY CHOICE.
Congrats to the angler. He will have a story to tell for a lifetime and for the rest of us we will continue to voice our opinions good or bad because we have the right to do so.

It would have been nice if he had a replica of the fish made but if it was caught legally then he can keep the fish. No one should be calling him names or attacking this person. Sounds like people on the rough fish section on here. This person caught a really nice fish and now he will have it mounted and will remember this for the rest of his life and hopefully no one else will attack him. LET THE MAN ENJOY HIS FISH !!!!

I am sure the fella is a good guy. Just the logic of leaving the biggest fish to carry on, will benifit us all in the long run.
