I believe razorback has got it. Those guys who are catching the 25lb sacks arn't doing that every day they go out. They just happen to hit them the right way that day. I have fished tournaments where i only caught 14lbs one day and go back and fih almost the same style the second day and bring in 20+. Just keep fishing your style and bringing in those high teen sacks. You will always be in the hunt on most tourney trails and you will one day get that big sack.

Yeah, 25lb sacks for an individual are real tough. I've done it exactly once in a tournament. I had 25lbs 14oz a few years ago at Choke. And I haven't broken 20 but 2 or 3 other times in 30+ years of off and on tournament fishing. You hear about these huge stringers, but it's usually a once in a blue moon event for most anglers.
Heck, if you could just catch 15lbs every day you went out, you could win a lot of money in this sport.

if you constantly bring in 15 to 18# sacks then you arent doing anything wrong, on most lakes in texas if your constanty bringing in 12 to 14# sacks your doing well and making money...

Umm, I would not change a thing.. If you are consistently bringing in 15-18 pound bags right now, you will be in the hunt in every tournament unless you are from South Tx area lakes.
You guys know everything..... I'm just an idiot....no problem........

Just a thought we use to bring in really consistent bags on Rayburn and got lots of checks but never won, about four years ago we changed everything from where we fish to how and what we throw. We do a lot better in bringing in big bags but aren't consistent, but I'd much rather have a fighting chance at winning than a tenth place finish. I always say go for the win in a one day event if you fish for a limit or for a check thats usually what you get. I say this and its still very hard to do, you have to check your ego because your gonna fail more than you succeed and we fail a lot, but trust me when you succeed its worth it. Good luck!

Man, I will take a 15-18# bag everytime, unless I am on Falcon or Amistad. Na, I'd take there, just wouldn't do much good. That big stringer will come. You just got to get that really good kicker fish. I'd like to know how to get 15-18# everytime.
