Better take another look at those pics I think I saw a big foot in the brush behind that panther. LOL yeah and that 'panther' leapt over the fence in a single bound like super puss!

House cat. What is a "panther"?? I thought they only lived in Hollywood and acted in Tarzan movies. Dictionary says there are some dark colored cougars in the Southwest (which includes the Big Bend). Says no panther. In Latin America they are dark colored Jaguars. No panthers. Anywhere.

Panther is just a word used for members of the genus Panthera, the big cats. It includes lions, tigers, jaguars, and leopards. The name "black panther" is usually a melanistic dark morph of the jaguar or the leopard. They would appear jet black at a distance but the characteristic spots of the jaguar or leopard may be visible when viewed up close as they are a darker color than the rest of the animal. This does not show what I have just described. This animal is not shaped anything like any member of the big cats. It is more than likely just a big black house cat or feral cat.

That is a house cat. When it lays across the road, it only takes up the width of one side of the road, tire path. Fake!

Not sayin they are real....not sayin they arent....but if they are real then why hasnt someone shot one, or caught one? I mean as many hunters as there are in texas or anywhere around here, why hasnt someone seen this thing while sittin in the stand? It just seems like if it is real it would be recognized as a true species....alot of people have "seen" them, and i am not negating what you saw, but why is there no proof? overtonfisheries ground check that critter next time and we will put this case to rest. PS I bet some of those fish yall are breeding would bring him in!
