Been a while since i've been on the forum...i've been on THF (Texas Hunting Forum) since last sept. but i guess i'll put my rifle/bow down and pick my pole back up!

i took the boat out yesterday afternoon and was checking the usual mid lake and dam humps...came up to one and it had a bunch of bait fish on top of the hump and just on the otherside was a large school. grabbed the pole with the slab and as quick as i could get one in and off the hook i had one after another! the bite was solid for about 45min then they vanished in the dark. it was kind of strange as soon as the sun went below the tree line they were through!

yeah thats what dad said...i think i passed you on the lake last sunday. i was headed south and you were headed north just north of westbay...i was in a red Triton bass boat. i also caught a few sandies that day too but that was by accident. i was hitting some docks killing time and pulled out 4 big fat ones.

Probably, I was out there Sunday afternoon. I could not find anything in the usual spots, and my unorthodix scouting trip up the oates branch creek was less than unproductive. Would have done better with a 4x4 instead of my boat.

Karl, you just need to have your secret weapon with you. So she outfishes you, at least you'll catch something.

My secret weapon has been letten me down lately on the fishing front. They grow up so fast nowdays. Now it is all boys this and boys that.

That's not good. Better keep your gun collection handy for when the boys start showing up at your door. Just sit on your couch with the collection out in your underware acting like your cleaning your guns. Then invite him to sit down with you so you can show off your guns and chat.

I don't want to think about Karl in his underwear.

Looked at all the good spots on thursday and was nothing worth fishing over. It won't be long water needs to warm up some more.

I'm not a fan of yellow but that boat is beautiful.

What are you looking for in water temp., if I may ask? Im getting the boat ready tomorrow and will be out there in the pm. Should I bring a rod for the test drive or just wait a few days or so?

I'm looking for it too hit 60 +/- a couple of degrees.

60 and they will start playing in the lake.Most of the sandies don't go up the river to spawn on Eagle Mountain. They will show up on the humps squirting milt and eggs.
