O.K.,( APRIL 2nd,3rd..) Not sure if this will work out but I am willing to try. I have a 20+ acre soil conservation lake in Robinson built in 1969. Carp population has exploded in the last 20+ years. I am looking at a weekend invite to all that are interested and respectful of the property. The amount of carp in this lake is unbeleivable. Now catching them may be another story. I believe they are a grass carp. I have seen it with pollen on top of water and a set of lips every square foot across lake. They look like commons but don't get huge as far as I have seen. Now I do have Gaspers that are huge. arm length is not uncommon. couple of them caught last year with earth worms. I have plenty of shade on N.E. side inwhich can be drove right up to. The dam is very long and fairly clean, low grass. I would need to do this before my coastal field get growing and would get damaged from driving on.anyone intersted can email me at shadycreekboers@aol.com.... let me know opinions on a particular weekend in the next month. I would like to limit the fishing to bottom dwellers. Not enough bass and crappie to be ripping all their lips off and swallowing hooks. all gaspers, mudcat and carp can and are incourage to be taken, all other fish released. again, I would like everyone on one weekend and not have individuals showing up everyday wanting to fish. Just don't have the time to monitor and don't want grass drove on that often. " minimul impact" Mike

bear with me, I am very new to this website so my replies may be scattered til I figure it out. and judging from the interest, I may be overwhelmed before it's over. an overnighter sounds like a good idea. I live hear so I won't be the one sleeping on the ground. please don't just show up knocking at my door but,The location is on hwy 77, 5 miles south of waco. I own 2/3rds. of the lake. I have the dam which is a couple 100 yards long, no rip rap, not a deep lake. cannot drive on dam but with a dry ground, I have a shaded side (800 ft.)that can be drove right up to. mostly mud bottom but some gravel beds. no vegetation do to carp I beleive. the property can handle alot of respectful people that treat it as their own. I don't mind drinking and smoking but your trash goes with ya. Kids are welcome but remember they are Your kids and a reflection of you. Please make sure they are respectful. what dates are good? Friday campers wouldn't be a problem if they can get in before dark to see layout. Saturday campers also welcome.

You are doing fine. Last weekend in March conflicts with a big tournament. A Saturday overnighter may be most practical due to travel. Maybe 1st or 2nd weekend in April, depending on weather?
Chime in guys with timelines.
These guys are real good about looking after someone's property.

Certainly can't accomodate a 29 foot trailer, that would wreck his pasture, but I'd be game for a day trip, on a Saturday,,doubt if they are grassers, as they'd probably have to be STOCKED

I mentioned in one of my other treads that a old farmer claimed to have stocked with some carp and gaspers. if we don't get any rain between now and then, trailer wouldn't be a problem.. play it by ear... o.k. how about 1st or 2nd weekend in april? we could plan 1st. and if rain became a issue, move it to the 2nd. ?

I'm in for either one. Sounds like fun. A great way to help assure a carp haul would be having you toss range cubes into the areas that would afford us easy bank access. Toss it as far out as you can. You can show us the areas that have been baited.

FYI, the heart of the city of Robinson is just about 3 miles. plenty of fast food, grocery stores, etc. restrooms is one obsticle, this isn't a 5 star resort yet. I do have a working outhouse with modern plumbing that I can make ready. ( meaning put the door back on )
