My cell phone has a calculator function on it. Others? Paying two places prolly would've taken all of six minutes to figure out!

I agree. That's one reason the tournament guys should just weigh 3 or fewer fish. Saves fish lives + we all have a shot at later catching that same fish.

I agree. That's one reason the tournament guys should just weigh 3 or less fish. That doesnt have anything to do with it. If everyone does what they are supposed to do (taking care of the fish) it wont matter if you have 3 or 5 fish.

From their website: Anderson County Bass Club is a non profit organization designed to bring people together and fish some of East Texas' finest bass fishing lakes. In it's forth year, Anderson County Bass Club has increased in size and is currently running monthly team tournaments on some of the best bass fishing lakes in Texas. Sounds like they may changed their Club mantra and are now a 'for profit' organization.

Im not defending anybody, but give them a chance to get the checks mailed out before everyone starts calling them theives.
I don't know their reasoning for what they did, but I will give them a chance to get it straightend out, before I start hammering it out.

Lets see this play out before we make any accusations about anything shady going on. My comments earlier were referring to the payout not being done at the ramp. I am not trying to say anything underhanded is going on other than it probably was frustrating to those that fished and were expecting a check yesterday. Also the fish care issues(if any)needs to be addressed by those responsible and would be good to hear the other side of the story. Hopefully they will post soon. Until then lets all not make accusations on anything shady going on till we have solid reason to. By all means ask questions though and have an opinion.

I am not trying to start something but this really upset my 20 year old son the way they were handling the fish. I saw someone toss a fish when i was loading my boat but my son told me that all of them were given a air plane ride,, one of the (hope to get paid) winners my son said had a 10# fish. Good fish for Athens. A good friend of mine and I fished it and your right they where definitelly given an airplane ride to the lake, plus the handling of the fish being weighed in, I have seen it done like that before but it would have been a lot better on the fish in a weigh bag. There was a younger angler infront of us weighing in we had said something to the TD about handling of the fish and he just ignored us! As far as fishing it was great but don't think I will be back for this tournament!!

This club, and its officers should be ashamed...Disbanded also. Keep up the public outcry til it goes away...The club that is.

That's all fine and dandy, but the fact that they were long-tossing the fish is just inexcusable.
In addition, imho, you don't run an OPEN tournament and mail out the winnings. If it was just a club deal, no problem. But, since there was no proclamation that the winnings would be mailed and not cash-in-hand... it just screams of impropriety.
The TD needs to be called to the carpet and given the chance to make it right. That said, it should also be the last tourney he "directs".

That was my first and last time with them as well. What got me, besides the stuff already mentioned was the way they did the take-off. TD said he was gonna wait till everyone was in their boat and ready to go and then give the command. He got in his boat and got to the front without any notice to all of us still waiting on the bank yelled go and took off.

Yes,it will. Post tournament mortality is up to 50% on tournament fish that are released alive. Mortality is only 1-3% on catch and immediate release fish.

Shotgun starts are dangerous as it is, but this is getting somewhat ridiculous. Was it Robby Rose wearing the fake glasses and mustache disguise?

Does anybody have any idea how many teams were in the tournament and what % payback is? If not then you have no idea how much you are supposed to be getting in the mail. He can send you what ever he wants and you can't do anything about it.

Not sure they can disband them, but they can sever their affiliation with them.
