My son and I fished the open Sunday on Lake Athens with the andersoncountybassclub. Let me tell you what a poor run event,
Everyone paid in cash that morning, but when it came time to pay the winner's the TD said that he did not want to count the money that he would mail the winning's, that is BS in it self, but the thing that made a bunch of us MAD was the way they handle the fish.
They were set up close to the lake 12-15 feet, they would take every fish out of your bag by hand, and some fish were dropped on the ground, and then put in the basket with no bag.
Weighed and THEN THE FISH WERE THROWN INTO THE LAKE ONE AT A TIME FROM THE WEIGH -IN SITE TO THE LAKE 12-TO 15 FEET, IS WAS HORRIBLE.
NEVER AGAIN.

no money paid out.. good luck gettin any. i woulda asked to see the TD's drivers license and written down all the information, and got him to sign something that said he would be mailing my money..
thats a buncha BS! they wont last long.

I also watched the TD almost disqualify a fish that was an under, he didn't close the fishes mouth when measuring. Some other guy that was helping run things said, well check it yourself then, and when he did, hmm, IT WAS AN UNDER.

Did anyone say anything to the TD while he was doing this to the fish or did they just stand around and stay quiet? Also this is the second tournament I have heard about this weekend that is mailing the checks. Is this a new trend or something?

If cash was paid at the lake then the payout should have been paid there.Unless the TD couldn't figure percentages.

You would think he could have done the research PRIOR to the tournament or figure it out in the 8hrs while the guys are fishing. Just seems to be very few valid reasons not to payback at weigh in.
