Notice the 'green horn' designation under my name haha....
What are all of these terms you're using? I'm obviously new to fishing, but what is an under, the slot, an over...?
Are you referring to the keeper minimum length?

on some lakes in Texas their are slots limits from 14 inches to 24 inches. Some are different and some just have a min. of 14 inches.
An under you can weigh in or keep it and an over the same thing. Anything in that slot you have to throw back.

Are you referring to the keeper minimum length? The slot on Athens is 14"-21" so everyone will want an over 21" Hope to see you there

Athens is a slot lake.
This means there is a slot of fish that you can't keep.
An over is a fish OVER 21" on Athens
An under is a fish UNDER 14" on Athens
Fish from 14" to 21" can not be kept on Athens.
Only 1 fish over 21" can be kept on Athens.
So in a non BBFT you could keep 4 under's and 1 over OR 5 unders.
This can differ from lake to lake and not all lakes are slot lakes. Just look it up on TPWD to get more info.

1 Fish can be weighed in BUT you have to fish in the Blue Boat to weigh it.. No red boats allowed at weigh in... No Nitros allowed on Athens.. Rangers can only fish 4th saturday of the month. Skeeters fish the 6th saturday of the month..
