There is a nice beach at the bottom of Reimers and the fish should be all through there. She should be able to catch a few without wading. Good Luck.

Got the skunk today. A few people caught fish, but it was definitely slow out there fishing wise. Plenty of people out trying; boats, kayaks, waders, bankers, and a working crew of about 50, planting Cypress trees along the river bank.

How far up the Pedernales river can they make it? Can they make it by Pedernales Falls SP? I am just tryin to put together a couple spots to try in case one doesn't pan out I can try another. I am coming from San Antonio so the farther down this direction or even toward Austin the better.

I don't think they go up that far. That's a long ways off from Reimers.

I have caught whites at Pedernales Falls SP before, but I don't think they go up that far every year even if they have enough water to do so

Fishing and Hunting are not everything, they are the only things!!!!!!!!!

I am new to this site and thinking about heading to Reimers this afternoon. Any tips for a newbie fishing from the bank/kayak on where to go. I fished Reimers a few years ago via boat, but the water was super low.......I live on the Pedernales halfway between Reimers and the falls and have never caught a white bass this far up....

I am about to head out there in an hour or so. You should be fine as long as you look for the deep eddies and fish slow and on the bottom.

Like a small small jig. I am tossing 1/64 and 1/80 on the flyrod. A white roadrunner should work well also.

I took a friend out from work to Reimers. He's just starting to get into flyfishing. We arrived about 2:00 and was on the water about 2:30. We walked up to right below the rapids, just upriver from those big Cypress stumps. Wasn't long before I had a fish on. I had cast out and stopped to give my partner some casting tips. When I gathered my line back, low and behold, there was a 12 inch male. It wasn't real steady fishing , but picked up as the day went on. I guess we had about 8 fish between us in about an hour. It really got hot about 4:00. We fished until 5:45 and got about 35. All males. Brought home 25 to clean. Overall, a good day!

Awesome report. I'll be out there next week. Have to work this weekend though. What type & color flies you use? Clouser? White/chartruse?

Shut up and fish!
