Pictures of the boat striped and getting prepped for the durabak to be laid down. Pictures of the boat with the Durabak laid down. That's the "sand" color "textured" from the Durabak site. If I had it to do over again I would order a quart or two of textured and just do the deck. I painted my whole boat with the textured stuff and let me tell you it will peel your skin off. You ain't going to slip though I can promise you that. What I'm going to do is put down one more coat of smooth Durabak on top of the textured on my walls and gunwales. Supposedly from everything I've read online this should smooth it out a bit. The only thing I'm worried about is the kids skinning their knees on the deck getting in and out of the boat to swim. I figure I'll order a custom snap in carpet kit this summer for the front and rear decks. Until then I'm just going to repaint it with smooth Durabak and lay down a towel for the kids to put thier knees on getting in and out. Hopefully the fresh coat of smooth I put on the walls and back deck will be enough to make it tolerable until then, because I ain't taking this stuff off anytime soon lol. When I ordered more Durabak I bought it in white this time so I could break it down into quarts and color it whatever color I want. I'm going to do a desert camo pattern with 3-4 colors of tan/brown and a tad bit of black to help hide shad that have been ground into the floor. As you can see I still have to put everything back in the boat. I'll post more pictures when I get finished with it.

lol it does doesn't it?
Next thing up is reupholstering the seats and head and backrest then bolt everything back in/on. I tried putting my rubrail back on but it was so cold when I tried it the plastic was too stiff and was about a half inch off from the drilled holes.

We just did one in Durabak. We joked about draging catfish across it to skin them. I think it will hold up great

We didnt see that change in the motor. Aour went from a 70 Evunrude to an 85 Johnson. Your motor saw a much better result than ours.

Really nice. What kind of preparation did it require?

Thanks for the compliments guys. Really nice. What kind of preparation did it require? Well the hardest part was getting the carpet glue off. I used a rotary grinder with a wire wheel to take all that off. Probably wasn't necessary to get it all off but I'm pretty anal about stuff like that....I used like 400 grit sandpaper to rough up the rest of the boat. Then make sure everything gets washed then wiped down really well with xylene.
