Did you fish above the bridge or between the bridge and the lake? Thanks.

Fished for 30 minutes this afternoon downstream. Didnt catch anything and left. Hard for me to stay motivated on small fish when nobodys catching any and theres a person every 15 yards. Saw a bunch of foks with nothing and one guy with a dozen that said he had been there since 7am.

I almost paddled up the Yegua and joined the circus but decided that there was already too many big boats headed that direction for my liking. I drove all the way around and there were trucks parked at every creek. I stopped and fished cedar crk but it didn't produce so I headed on down to Jerdelle. I started out downstream looking for crappie but failed.. Headed upstream looking for whitebass. Caught 1 at the rusty car and then nothing else all the way to the headwaters. On the way back down I fished the lower end near the rusty car and picked up 5 more in about an hour. I headed home @ 5 with six fish. I should have fished the lower end harder for whites but the explorer in me usually wins out over the fisherman. wink

I have read that the run is over for whites and crappie in the creeks!? Is there any places to find the fish or catch them in the main lake this time of year now that they have moved out of the creeks?? Thanks!

Newmans Bottom has way too much water in it. The lake water is backed up into Newmans. I fished it for a very short period of time and caught one. I knew it was going to be very slow so I went over to Irwin bridge to fish the area where Ive done good in the last two trips. The bite was slow there too. To make my post short and simple, I caught six whites and three crappie in three hours of fishing. Im not sure where the fish are, but I think they have moved into deeper water waiting till the water temp rises again. I know the spawn isnt over because it never has gotten started good yet. There are way to many females in there that are still loaded with eggs. I saw stringers of three to six fish and thats it. Maybe someone else will post a report better than this one, but Im off to another river tomorrow to see what I can hook up with till the bite on the Yegua picks back up again.

This little front we had move in may of put a damper on the bite for a bit. I cleaned my fish from yesterday today and majority where females about to explode with eggs. Ill be out in the morning given it heck again. Hopefully the few honey holes Ive found will still hold fish. Weve had to walk dern near to newmans bottom from Irwin bridge to find decent fish.

Ive read several reports for whites today on several other fishing forums, and from the looks of it all, no one was really on a good bite for whites today no matter where they were fishing. I may just stay home tomorrow and wait a little while before going again.
