I'd say you did alright. Your freezer must be overflowing by now. I have an extra freezer in my shop. I still have some room for a few more.

Well I went with my boys tonight. We got there about 3pm. We started out downstream and no one was really having alot of luck. We went about 2 miles without any luck and decided to turn back. We then went upstream and caught 17. They had a blast. We mostly caught them on red heads with chartreuse tails. My youngest son, age 6, had to have these green and orange heads with orange tails and he caught about 5. It was the funniest thing you've ever seen. He out caught the older guys (and me) all around him. Thanks for all the help! Fish Tacos were awesome tonight.
My middle son said "We are now going fishing both Saturday and Sunday!, I love this!"

How do you freeze them so they don't have a fishy taste?

How do you freeze them so they don't have a fishy taste? To begin with, you cut their throat while theyre a live to bleed them. Then after you fillet them, you cut that little red strip of meat off that runs down the middle of the fillet. I make two cuts, like a V and it comes right off.

Trying to avoid the crowds the Jerdelle Creek seemed like a pretty good option. As I arrived there wasn't a person in sight. The white 1/8 jig head with grub I was tossing didn't pick up any action for the first 30 minutes. Struggling to get to a likely looking spot through some pretty serious brush paid off as this guy liked my offering. He looks like a hybrid. A few more small ones but no limit. I did see some spawining action close to the banks.

Just got in from Irwin Bridge. Did decent, ended up with a nice stringer of 15 whites. Really had to work for a bite..but found a technique that really got them to bite. Most of the fish came from a 2in White curly tail and a red Roadrunner head 1/8 oz. Ill be back out there again Sun AM. Ran into another fellow TFF member...but i cant remeber his name!!

All, Newman's Gate will be opened tonight at 8:00 PM. Should be some un-fished holes in that area of the Yegua. Good luck to everyone.
