We seen about 10people today that had walked from the gate at newmans. We walked I dont know how far from irwin Bridge..but far! They all had decent stringers. 1 group of guys had about 15 out of 1 hole.

I might paddle up the Yegua Saturday.. but based on how I feel right now it's questionable..

Just got in from Irwin Bridge. Did decent, ended up with a nice stringer of 15 whites. Really had to work for a bite..but found a technique that really got them to bite. Most of the fish came from a 2in White curly tail and a red Roadrunner head 1/8 oz. Ill be back out there again Sun AM. Ran into another fellow TFF member...but i cant remeber his name!!  What was your technique? Now if I told ya.. It wouldnt be my "lil secret weapon" Now would it? LOL  Hey, it was worth a try.

HLS- you caught the bug that everyone has? Im going through it all right now..the cough,sneezing, nasal congestion. I was getting cabin fever laying around the house... I had to get out and fish!

I paddled up to the trail bridge @ Nails creek and managed to catch only 3 crappie around 11". I have never fished the creek with that much water in it. In some areas you could not see the banks. I went to erwin bridge at about 4:30 til 6:00 and the bite had quit when I got there. I lost one nice fish at the bank and that was it. That wind was crazy today! I felt like I was in the surf when I had to paddle across the open lake.

Well, it's official. The crappie and white bass run is over. No more fish in Nails or Yegua- they are in the main lake and will be there for about 10 months now. Sorry guys!! No sense in spending your time or even coming close to one of the creeks!!

Well, it's official. The crappie and white bass run is over. No more fish in Nails or Yegua- they are in the main lake and will be there for about 10 months now. Sorry guys!! No sense in spending your time or even coming close to one of the creeks!!  lol.

I have to agree with you on this. I went there all morning, not seen a single fish caught by anyone. So the party is over! Just stay home, don't waste your time
