I see all of these places having a Classic in the Southeast and I think why not here in Dallas? I heard that the anglers had to drive an hour from the lake to weigh-in. We have lakes; Ray Hubbard, Lewisville, Ray Roberts, we have Cowboys Stadium, Mesquite Rodeo arena, and the AAC to hold the weigh-in along with all of the festivities that go along with it.
I would want to hold the Classic on a lake with a 5-14 limit that has plenty of room for spectator boats and the anglers.
I think that we could get record attendance at the classic if it was held here.
I was wondering what everyone else thought would be a good classic lake/place to hold the weigh-in.
I think that Lewisville then hold the Weigh-in at the AAC would be easy but the Classic is in the middle of the Mavs & stars seasons...........

Lift the slot off Fork for the Classic Weigh in at Jerry's world Then and only then will the "What is the best lake in Texas" BS come to a end.

Ray Roberts with weigh in at the UNT Football Stadium would be awesome. I'd so be there!!.....but, then again, for those of us who love Ray Roberts, I don't know what it would do to Ray Bob as far as fishing pressure afterwards. Could you imagine KVD sitting in Airplane cove the whole classic? LOL!!! The boats would be jammed all the way to Jordan the day after. !!!!LOLLOLLOL!

I could only imagine the carnage that would take place with an armada of boats trying to follow/chase the pros around north of Wolf island. Some of the "boat lanes" are only wide enough for 1 boat at a time so can you imagine 30-50 boats single file thru there? LOL Of course, SOMEONE would decide they can get out of line and buzz past everyone, then find one of those 2 ft diameter tree stumps sitting just below the surface in 25 ft of water. OUCH! Hello North Texas Fiberglass! It would be a good, big lake for them to fish with lots of areas that hold fish and many patterns to choose from. But again, just the thought of the spectator boat traffic trying to follow these guys would be crazy!

they've already tried many times. dallas wouldnt put up the money. i heard from KVD himself many times tell me the classic will be at hubbard in the next few years but never happened. fork doesnt stand a chance, its not the lake thats important, its the facilities nearby to minimalize costs.

Won't happen any time soon. Guy's these cities that are hosting the big events like this are paying BASS 100's of thousands of dollars if not more. There isn't just one city here in the metromess that can foot that kind of bill. The tourism boards here are too divided to work together to come up with the funds to do it.
That is one reason you consistantly see the cities with casino's host the events. The casino's help out with alot of the big events as they know they will recoop their cost multiple times by people staying at the hotels, shopping and gambling.
Alot of the area that are hosting the big events in the east have been doing it for a long time and the entire area has one tourism board that will work with a group of cities to bring events in. They have arleady figured out one city can't do it alone without help, so they team up to get it done.
We have the lakes, and the people, but unfortunatly we dont have the leadership and relationship's between cities to get it done anytime soon.

i would love to see them pick apart Ray Hubbard! I bet they would suprise a lot of folks with thier wieghts! 3 distinct water columns hold fish: deep, shallow, and the river. that would be awesome to watch! But- with the world ending dec 21, 2012, we wont ever get to see them here LOL!!!

It sure would be nice to see a Classic in Texas. There are many facilities that could host it. I definitely would attend.
