Wife and I were watching and she said she hoped it would hit him also.
No doubt we will get blasted for saying anything against "IKE", but I do not find his antics funny or amusing in any way. Just my opinion but when he is on camera, his actions certainly are not a positive reflection on bass fishing or fishermen(women). Really think he needs to grow up!!! how can you say its not a positive reflection? That is 100% opinionated, maybe to you. The bottom line is that he is a differerent kind of person, and he is your "typical" bass fisherman with the flat billed cap, bigger pants, skateboarding shoes. He used to be a DJ. I think its a compliment to the sport on how far is has progressed and reached out. To say he doesnt have a positive reflection to the sport? Why? Because he is enthusiastic? Because he has energy? Anyways I dont think one person can speak for the entire sport. If you dont like him, then you dont like him, but dont speak for the sport of bass fishing. He progressed because of the fish he caught, NOT because of his theatrics. He won't get one minute of airtime if he doesn't catch fish. (See much footage of Denny Brauer at this year's Classic?) The screaming, spitting, temper tantrums, and equipment destruction do not provide anything positive for the sport and are not the behavior the up and coming youth should be watching. This is not a good reflection on fishing. You can be enthusiastic and energetic without making an a$$ out of yourself. I can't help but wonder if he would condone that type of public behavior from his kids.

If one of the other anglers spit while on camera, it probably would not have even been memtioned. It wasn't just him spitting - we have all spit. It was just the way he did it. I couldn't see any other angler doing it.

Would anybody give a rats arse should Billy Bob redneck bass fisherman put a big ol pinch between his cheek and gum and started spitting into a cup? Hardly think so.
But, Ike's a "Yankee" so he already rubs folks the wrong way down here in the confederacy by virtue of his birthplace. Good Lord people...
He's probably done more for the sport of fishing than anybody not named Kevin Van Dam. Kids LOVE Ike and he works his arse off getting the youth interested and staying interested in fishing and all that entails.
So he spit. BFD. He probably floated an air biscuit or two as well. Should we crucify him for that?

I don't care to much for the way he acts, kind of annoys me. Mostly the way he throws the fish around. I did think it was funny when he bit the lip of one of his fish.

I personally like Ike. My wife & I find him entertaining. Every time they go to him on camera, we can't wait to see his reaction to catching a fish........cracks us up! He is very competitive on the water and just shows it in a different way.
Kinda like T.O. when he scores a touchdown. Everyone watches to see what T.O. will do next for a celebration. You either love him or hate him.......but everyone watches them both. They definitely bring the ratings up.

i dont see anyone pitchin a gripe cause baseball and football players spit on the field. We all know its an intense sport and sometimes you get caught up in the moment. This is what Ike feeds off of people getting a rise out of his antics. Give the guy a break. He is what he is and he's damn good at it!!! Thumbs up Ike keep us laughing.
