I've seen this talked about several times in TF&G magazine, but never the "WHY".

tom hall a guide does a discussion every year on this at the san antonio boat show he's a great man to talk to lots of info he will pass on... he does this and says it's the vanilla in the big red that atracts the red fish mainly.... but he also says it really only works in the winter because you don't have a lot of bait stealers in the flats.

The high caffine content of the Big Red sodas have been the favorites sodas of many a predator - especially BIG REDFISH !!!!!!!

never seen anyone do the shrimp soaking in big red but seen ppl soak there shrimp in tea

Never thought about soaking shrimp ,but I know a lady who dips her minnows and jigs in Big Red ffor crappie fishing. She always catches a bunch.

the only thing I like to soak in big red is blue bell home made vanilla
