The fact is these local merchants are losing money in areas where fishermen are being ripped off. They need to catch these people. I'm not spending another night at Fork until they catch these thieves!

I was not sure what Perry's stand was on the issue but I knew he had signed it into law for Tx and could of refused to sign it. I know the house guys did all the work as well as the real people that introduced as a bill. Did not mean to ruffle any feathers.

what do they do with this stuff, i buy all my rods and reels from this website, surely im not buying stolen equipment, am i???
we need to engrave everything with a serial number, that would help with recovery right.
Just trying to remember to turn my lights off backing down the ramp!

We can only hope that all of the thieves' orifi grow shut, and after a prolonged period of extreme suffering, they explode into a quivering mass of their fetid goo. Thieves suck.

Where was your stuff when the thieves hit you? In your boat? Where was your boat? Tied up at a slip or on the trailer next to your hotel room?
 Good Question.

I got hit 3 yrs ago in Corpus Christi, I was heading down to PINS & had 3 Surf rods (2 were 10' St Croix) & 2 7' Casting Rods with Ambassadur 7000's in the back of my truck. I pulled off the highway to stop at the Wal-mart, Think it was Calallan Rd area and there were several beggars on the side of the road holding up signs...
I stopped at the traffic light & was talking to my wife when I noticed a begger talking to the guy in the car behind me, I was about 4 vehicles back in the line and when the light turn green I heard a rattle noise in the bed of my truck bed & he had a handfull of my rods & running.... at a freaking TRAFFIC LIGHT!! in the MIDDLE of the afternoon!!
of course indecision at the moment, do I stop, can I stop, do I chase him... he was already 50yds away and not slowing down... about $1,000 worth of rods
Since I was goin to Wal-mart.... might as well buy a couple more rods...
...and they wonder why people pull over & beat them with baseball bats/shoot them with paintballs....
I tried to be normal but it got boring so it's just back to being ME~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Never argue with an Idiot, They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

Oh no, I wasn't calm by any measure, I was desperately looking for somebody that looked like they needed their face bashed in...
I managed to get back around in the direction he ran but that wasn't a very nice neighborhood he ran toward & I hadn't brought my pistol since weapons prohibited where I was going...

Go to Radio Shack and get the motion sensor. Its wireless and is good up to 500 ft. I put one on my drive and it works. Caught the guy that was stealing out of my truck.
THEY WORK!!!! put the motion detector in the boat and the reciever next to you bed/pistol. Then wait for the bite!!
Being an ex-cop I use to tell everybody to get one. and best thingf is you can take it with you from place to place. And they don't know your being warned till its to late...

We were also hit Sunday (2/21/2010) morning at Lowes Creek area. At least 5 boats in my neighborhood. Alot of people are pre-fishing the LOBI so the thieves know where to look. They did not touch the eletronics (serial numbers). My guest had his boat between my mobil home and garage about with only 6 feet on either side. The rod & reels were locked up below deck. The thief just twisted the Ranger lock / handel until it gave. My boat was inside the garage and was not touched. The deputy sherrif said the thieves work in pairs or small groups and want quick easy targets. Just so that everyone knows when someone approches you at the ramp and says he is out of gas and needs to sell some of his fishing equpment a red flag should go up!! Thieves know how to lie to honest people. If you buy anything,,, buy from our Pro's sponsers they need our business. One of my neighbors said it best, "I got lazy and made it easy for the thieves". I know it's a giant pain but go the extra mile to make it hard for the thief. My friend lost over $3,000.00 dollars in rod & reels. That makes me so MAD! Don't let it happen to you if at all possible.

Dude, if someone reached into the back of my pickup, you would have witnessed the fastest fat boy ever chasing a thief. I tell you what...people dont react to well to having the pizz whipped out of them with a 7' casting rod.
