If you guys that are waiting for the Lake Bryan crappie to get active they should be going shallow now. I say this because I fished a private lake near there and the crappie have moved up to the shallow spawning beds. I caught about 25 or so Sunday evening on the fly..

I went to Irwin Bridge today, what a day. I have one question to ask you guys. Which section of the creek is the best? Down stream or up stream? I have seen a lot of folks walked miles to find their favorite spots. Is it really necessary? It's just too laboring for those folks carrying their fish to walk miles back to parking lot.

Went to Irwins bridge first yesterday, but decided to go ahead and try newmans after seein all the vehicles there. Didnt get down there til about 11am of so. Probably walked a mile upstream of the bridge at newmans, and fished from 11ish to about 3. I ended up catching 15. Could have stayed and caught more but I did not feel like carrying more than that back!!

It's ON! Best fishing in years.. photo from Jeff Henson TPWD biologistText along with the email: When I got to the bridge today I counted 72 vehicles parked in the area. I have seen lots of stringers of fish and then I saw this one, today, at Irwin Bridge. I think we are in prime time for white bass in the Yegua Creek.

Good morning Fisherman. Well I'm sorry I did not reply on Friday evening like I said I would. However I have good news like so many others fishing near Gidding's, Texas. I return home Friday with my limit of White Bass. I went straight out to Irwin Bridge. I started there about 9am with a buddy who caught 1 before me. I then started seeing people coming out with their limits. It wasn't till I saw a husband and wife tean coming out with their limits. I then asked the woman a few questions like how far down and on what lure. She was very nice and gave me directions and what to look for. I followed her instructions and my 11:30am my friend and I limited out. I guess we walked about 350 yards down and found the "The Honey Hole". It was great, however the walk back was something else. We had our prize....Yeah>>>>. I then went back Saturday with my father at 6:30am and we both limited out by 8:45am another great day....My father couldn't get enough so we went back on Sunday at 1:30 pm and between three of us caught an addtional 40 White Bass before dark. It was a good weekend.....I need to take a break today...after cleaning all the fish over the weekend, So I guess I will eat a few tonight with the family. The Fisherman "ROBO1970" out.........Good Luck to all....till my next report......

Ben, where did you snap that shot? Emailed to me from the Inland fisheries guys while out and about checking on the creeks.. Nope I'm not in the photo and don't know any of the fisherman unless that one guy (not holding the fish) name is Kyle.. He sure looks like Kyle!
