Went to Irwin again yesterday evening. stayed for about 1.5 hrs. 9 fish on lead head and chart curly tail. seemed pretty active. bet it's crowded today.
Has anyone tried fishing the creek at night? I've heard you can catch whites with lights to attract bugs or is that only for crappie.

Ok Hoggwild, here's a report for you. Slow for us, but not as much for others.
Fished Irwin bridge this morning. We caught 4 White Bass upstream of the bridge. We hiked fairly far upstream, so we were by ourselves most of the morning. I couldn't help wondering if it was just a really slow bite, or if we were just fishing in the wrong places, wrong lure, wrong presentation, etc. My questions were answered when I saw two guys walk by with stringers of about 10-15 fish each. We also talked to a few people fishing right at the bridge that had done pretty well. Saw some really good stringers today, and some people only had a few. We fished for about another hour right around the bridge and caught a Crappie. That was it for the day.
Even though we didn't catch as many fish upsteam, it was really peaceful back in there. Despite all the snags it was a fun area to fish.

ok well for my report for the day. got out to cedar creek around noon. Hiked about 1.5 miles upstream till I seen some nice current going and a really nice looking hole, kind of reminded me of my aquarium. Started casting into it with a fluorescent green road runner. Caught 7, one right after another, took about 15 minutes max. Then nothing. 30 minutes later caught another one. 45 minutes later, nothing so I left, hiked back, filleted some fish and here I am. Caught 2 females that were probably around 3 pounds each. Overall it was fun and worth it. Everyone else I ran into had caught nothing all day, except for 2 people who had caught 1 each. Everyone I ran into that caught something was using white.

Do not use a light for whites in the creeks or rivers while they are in the spawn mode. These fish become a different creature while spawning. The light scares them off.

went to irwin's bridge today and caught 10 whites. 9 males and 1 big female that was about 2.5 pounds! best colors were white, green, red, and blue. we caught all the fish on some of those color combos. there was one group that had a bigger stringer than me but they fished all day.

Me and a buddy also fished at irwin bridge today. I caught 11 whites, 1 crappie and 1 goo. My buddy caught 9 whites. The bites were off-n-on, not constant. Lots of people were fishing there. Hardly saw anyone empty-handed.
