I actually haven't done any fishing since fall. I'm about 2 miles upstream of the bridge on fm580. They call it pope mountain where I'm at, not much of a mountain though...

The water level right now, is better than it has been in a few years. On Saturday I caught only a few whites & two small LMB, but I wasn't fishing that hard, I had the family with me. I still feel like we are a few weeks away. That's the same feeling the few people I talked to that were out fishing. I plan on going back in two weeks, especially with the cold front blowing thru this week. Go luck to all, & keep the reports coming.

Gf and I were out there this weekend. Only caught 3 whites on Sat afternoon although I spent alot of time paddling and looking around. Sunday we managed 12 more whites and 5 blue cats. Talked to a guy trolling out of his canoe that said he almost caught a limit of whites on Sat and had 15 Sun. Not sure what he was using but I used a white roadrunner to catch the whites and gf was using minnows for the blues. It is a nice park and we will probably head back out soon. Saw some bald eagles when we paddled to the falls downstream Sat. Never did go upstream to Gorman falls though so maybe next time.

The guy trolling in his canoe is there quite often. Sometimes it appears he is guiding others.

Goin March 6-8... I'm likin what i'm reading here. I expected the spawn to be really late this year, due to the cold weather. But, it sounds like it will be about normal. And thats good for me. Anybody know if the whites caught recently are small (males)? They usually get there first, then the FAT MOMMA's start rollin in.

I caught 15 on Saturday and 14 on Sunday. Couple of people had their limits. Had lots of fun. Didn't take any pictures, but I have fish to eat. We were at the state park. Fish were sparadic and I caught them on any number of lures. Water temp was 52 yesterday.
