Just curious, I have realized over the past several years of fishing with many different people, that certain people stick primarily with a certain method of bass fishing that they are comfortable with and have had best results, and tend to stay with that method and only stray away from it slightly to change it up. Now I know this is not always the case but it is very common even in some pros. I, myself tend to stick to finesse fishing with soft plastics or jigs, mainly light weight or weightless stuff. I like to have a constant feel for the bottom and structure i'm fishing. I will fish cranks, spinners, jerkbaits, etc. but not near as much. I know they catch fish and big fish as well, but I seem to stick to what i'm comfortable with, even though my pb 13.01 was caught on a crankbait. Curious to find out if this is the general census around the board, and what eveyone elses comfort zone is. Thanks Jason.

I tend to fish whatever application is working for me that day. I don't get married to any one technique. I would say my strength is a jig with a deep crank a close second. My biggest weakness is finesse so in that regard, yes, I prefer the power presentations but will pick up a fairy wand if that's what it takes to get bit.
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

I used to only fish t-rigged worms, but now I mainly use weightless trick worms/senkos. Been throwing a crank every now and again, and learning to use jigs. On very rare occasions I'll throw a spinnerbait, but not very often. Been fishing since I was 5 years old, but just got serious into bass fishing about 2 years ago.

I figured i would get a good response on the cranks, my dad fished on the skeeter state team back in the 80's, and he lives and dies by crankbaits and ratte traps. I guess I have just not had the results(numbers wise) with them as I have had finesse fishing. I want to get more into them in a big way, but now the market is flooded with so many baits its hard to decided what is good, of course i've got the tried and true, fire-tiger, crawdad, sexy shad, blu-chartruese, in a couple of different depths and sizes, but I never seem to bust them out on the water. I just bought the secret colors crankin kit from strike king(KVD edition) all red eyed shad and a few lipped cranks, I'm about to put the plastic down and start crankin, I hope it pays off, and any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jason!

I don't fish much over 12' of water and most of my success comes on weightless plastics. I do like spinnerbaits and cranks though. Never had any luck with finesse or jigs.

On lipped crankbaits, don't you guys feel like you could get by with just 3 colors: white, chart/blue & red?
On lipless cranks, 2 colors: chrome blue & red?
I have purchased so many colors over the last several years, and every time I tie on one of these colors.

If you're out and your prefered method isn't working, it's nice to have an other method or two that you've had success with in the past.

I really cannot name a favorite attack method. There is just so much to do... weightless rattlesnakes in grass, skipping jigs under docks, yellow magic in the morning, drop shot, crankbaits the list goes on and on for fun ways to catch them...
