When yall find the fish stacked in the creek. And say you catch 5 or 6 and then it slows down...do you continue walking the creek or wait for another school to come by???? I couldnt image carrying a stringer of fish from spot to spot.....

I carry them...but I have two stringers incase I go try another spot. If I start nailing them I'll pull out my other stringer!

Ritchie I sent you a PM.

Gonna try for Sunday. Probably start down at Big Creek marina for crappie and then go up some creeks.

I'll be going but this will be my first venture down there. I'm solely going by the maps and directions that have been posted here so I'll pretty much be learning the terrain as I go..Should be fun though.

Okay, after seeing the post Ryan had posted on Cedar Creek yesterday with those two limits, I couldnt stand it any more so I had to make a trip to the creek today so I could get in on some of that action.
This post that am about to reveal to everyone is going to blow you away.

IIIIII almost got skunked today. I fished Cedar creek for 3- hours today with out one bite. Spoke to so many others down there that had caught limits just the day before that were also in disbelief. It was like, WHERE DID THE FISH GO? Out of the twenty or so folks I spoke to down there, I only saw about a dozen fish altogether that were caught. Most of those were pretty small fish at that. Just before leaving, I did hook into one nice size white, 14- inches. So thats how my trip to Cedar creek ended up. I was thinking about going to Nails on the way back towards my truck, but I spoke to several folks on Cedar creek who had been there earlier and they were not catching anything there either.
So I didnt stop there on the way home, but I did go to Irwin bridge to check out the water there. It was real muddy looking, and still running some what fast, but I felt like I just might be able to hook a few, so I parked and fished for a few minutes.
Glad I did, because I caught two more whites, and one crappie, which made me feel a little bit better about to days trip, but over all, it really was a sad day on the creeks.

And one said in a post earlier, Its amazing how just one day can make such a difference. Boy howdy is that ever true. Today was not it.

I haven't yet identified what it is that makes for a really good fishing day but my gut instinct is usually right about bad days.. Thursday is looking good and I'll bet the best bite is gonna be 10am until noon and then again around 3 to 4 pm til dark...

My instinct is telling me to go fish Reimers till the Yegua clears up a little.

Dont know that could stand another big let down this week from either one of these creeks pouring into Somerville. Man I fished hard today. I tried just about everything I knew to do to get those babies to bite. They were either no longer in there, or they had a real bad case of lock jaw, one of the two. The weather was awesome, the bite was not.

Thanks for the report, Doug. The bad reports are just as useful if not more so than the good reports. I was half thinking of taking a ride out to Somerville tomorrow, but I think I'll stick with my original plan of fishing Reimer's Ranch.

That is a wise decision Jared. I received some first hand information about that place yesterday as soon as I got home, which was good. Ill be out there tomorrow and maybe Sunday.
