I think the first event should be Benbrook. Then follow with the other lakes mentioned.

Do we want a tournament? Or do we want a fun thing? I would like to have a good kids competition. But what do us grown folks want.

simple and cheap!! like you said to begin with. keep it $10 or under and make it about the fishing and fun.

I believe the simpler you keep it the better, Also, for the kids part, maybe some small trophys or plaques or something, no matter how they do. Would keep them interested. The marina would be good place to have it at, Plenty of parking, and pavillions to eat lunch at or just get together.

and they have a certified scale. the last time i looked the lake record was 2.40, but many fish near 3 were caught last year and there was the story and pic of one that was over 4.

This sounds like a great idea. I like the focus being on the kids. Let me know when you get a date set and where. If at all possible i will be there to help how ever is needed. I will also help the prizes for the kids.
