Luminant News Release Dallas - 02.16.10 Squaw Creek Reservoir Prepares for Reopening Employees volunteer time to ready lake for limited fishing The buoys are in place, dock cleats installed and the parking lot clean. Thanks to a group of employee volunteers, Comanche Peak's Squaw Creek Reservoir is one step closer to reopening for fishing on a limited basis. "Our employees are just as excited about reopening the park as our neighbors and are working diligently to ensure the best fishing experience possible," said Mitch Lucas, Comanche Peak site vice president. "While additional work is still needed, we're pleased to be able to tell folks that we're taking significant strides in preparing the park for eventual reopening." Employee volunteers will continue to update the park and docks over the coming months. At the same time, Luminant is working to finalize access plans for Squaw Creek Reservoir and will provide updates as more information becomes available. As previously announced in December, the company intends to initially provide access to the public through charitable fishing tournaments and expects to make a decision on broader access plans later this year. Their liable to have some great turnouts on those charitable tournaments. Would be interesting to fish since I assume pre-fishing would not be an option.

Any charitable tourney that is held on that lake will get record numbers of entries. They will definitely have to limit the number of boats. Even if it is 200, that list will fill up quick.
I wouldn't expect to see it open to the public until next year. It would be nice to see this happen come Nov thru Jan time frame but the waiting list for that is going to be a long one as well.
For those that have never been to Squaw, make a wish as it may actually come true.
