BPS 3600 bags for bulk storage and separation, and leave them in the original bags.
Sterilite Modular Latch Boxes at Walmart for the boat. They come in all sizes.

Few years ago, I went to these cnavas tool bags like this one from Harbor Freight Tools. Leave them in their original plastic bags and then put them in this. Have a couple I carry in the boat, easy in/out, hold plenty and cheap. Tool Bag

Leave em in their original packages. I think its neater and helps retain their scents. Use big(gal) Zip-lock freezer bags and a Sharpie to keep the individual bags grouped together in the freezer bags: 7" worms,10"worms,craws,rattlesnakes...Do like the Walmart plastic tub idea above also!

I use a soft sided tackle bag with no boxes. I put each category of soft plastic (7" worm, 10" worm, etc) in its own 1 gallon ziplock but still in their original bags inside the ziplock. I used to use a huge plano box (6"deep x 24" x 24") to hold them all but I found on extremely hot days the baits were getting way too hot. The closed plastic box was containing the heat and causing a green house effect. Just my .02!!!

I was using the original packs but I go between boat and bank fishing. My honey hole for testing baits is unreachable from a boat. After digging around so much locating colors and baits I went to divided boxes with labels from office max. I only put baits that arent heavily dosed with salt like brush hogs, etc in the divided boxes and leave heavily salted in the original bags.
It had its + - as far as each is concerned. Picked up 2000 address labels($12) from office max that works with Microsoft Word. Easy...

The closed plastic box was containing the heat and causing a green house effect. Just my .02!!! You just have to keep them out of the direct sun like any other tackle box.

all mine are in the plano box. i have a shoulder carry tacklebox ( i love it to death), it has 4 plano boxs inside. one is full of soft plastics not in the original package. they do bleed colors if i am lazy and put a worm in the fluke part or a lizard in with the crawdads ect, but other than that their fine. i just make sure to keep each color 7 bait type where it belongs & my color bleed sitiation is solved.

I recently organized all of my soft plastics with metal shower curtain rings. They are very cheap-$1.25/12 pack. I got mine at Wal Mart. They are stainless steel, they clip, and things stay very organized. I organized my soft plastics by type-tubes, soft plastic jerkbaits, lizards etc. Now, when I want a certain lure, I just grab one of the 12 or so rings out of my tackle bag, and pick what I want. All of my lures are there, very easy to see, and organized exactly how I want them.
I'm not a chick.

I just buy the zipper bags from dollar store and put them in a big box with each color separated... it is easy and the zipper bags are easier then the pull apart in my opinion...

I have one question...when the plastics do get dried out, are they history and need to be tossed? What if you store a fluke rigged to your rod between trips? Thanks, Mark.

I usually pull mine off at the end of each trip and either trash them or put them back in the bag if they are still good. A little Fish Formula will make just about any traditional soft bait moist agian.
