I check my line and retie often. I respool the reels that need it. I use line conditioner so the ones not used heavily are fine. I respool all of them twice a year whether they need it or not. I buy the 600 and 1,000 yard spools of P-Line Premium.

YES John175! The retie (or failure to) has cost me some good fish. It only takes a few seconds to do and is cheap insurance!

I only respool when I notice a lot of twist. Usually just strip off 6 feet or so to get the nicks and go on. Using good quality line goes a long way. Same here. Except on braid, just respool when it runs out.
