No, I am not fishing in it. I like fishing the Opens. May fish the Media tournament on Lake Tyler on March 6th and the Anderson County Tournament On Lake Tyler on Feb 27th.

We fished the tournament and I can tell you for sure it's not easy to catch 20 pounds on Tyler right now. We fished hard all day and struggled. But, apparently several teams knew where some good fish were and caught them.

It's like any other tournament or day of fishing...either you find the fish and you're on 'em or not. On Tyler I think it's even truer than most other lakes. IMO it's a feast or famine lake. There's a lot of dead water out there, and you can cover a lot of water and catch very little...only to show up at the weigh-in and see other guys bringing in huge weights. Personally I would call it the ultimate "spot" lake. We obviously didn't put in enough time and didn't have any good spots. Getting lucky ain't gonna cut it out there.

Tom I agree 100%, unfortunately none of my good spots had fish. Eric and I found a good pattern and ran with it. God blessed us with a good bag of fish, but with 29lb bags, a "good bag" doesnt do you any good! Lake Tyler can be so bruttle, and it is feast or famine! There are alot of guys who fish this lake exclusively, but when you catch a bigger sack than them it just makes it that much better. I love Lake Tyler but, as you know Tom, no two days are the same on that lake. The areas that we caught fish on Saturday I have NEVER caught fish before and the areas where I always catch them this time of year I literally didnt get a freakin bite. I dont think that 20lbs is easy to catch on any lake. I hope the lake fishes good for FOM on Saturday, i'd love to see Tyler put out some more huge sacks and the FOM weight record go down, it's like 32 and some change. It can happen, there are some great anglers fishing on Saturday!

I went out there for a few hours this morning and almost froze to the steering wheel and didn't catch a thing. Water temps were 39-42 and the wind was howling....I hope this sunshine warms things up a little bit.

Still 37 degrees right now and it's almost noon. It was 24 degrees at my house this morning and it's supposed to be colder tonight. I live 5 minutes from the lake.

Gonna have highs in the 40s again tomorrow, maybe on Wednesday too.

Oh, did I mention we're supposed to get another cold front Friday night or early Saturday morning?

So...I hate to say it Matt, but keep hoping!

Dang, that aint good. I can tell you this, im investing in some better shoes before Sat. my feet almost feel off they were so cold.
