What color of crankbaits? I picked up a couple of tiny ones in a firetiger pattern at walmart when they were marked down to $.88. Only about an inch long if that. I was planning on using them for sunfish but if they work for the trout...

firetiger should catch em.. caught plenty on sexy shad and Tennessee shad as well. just about anything will work really, they are stupid hungry trout.

Just picked up some super dupers at Barlows in Richardson. I will be at Samuel farms tomorrow around 2. should be a nice day out.

Hey I just looked at Samuel Farms on google earth and I noticed there are several ponds right there. Which one is stocked?

Also is this place free to fish? Is there any time restriction?

good question, never thought about which pond. just figured i would show up and it would be the one everyone was at.

they stock the two close to the highway. they close at 5pm

Both of the front two ponds are stocked, also there is no fee to fish, just walk right thru the breeze way of the main building to get in

I got my limit at samuel farms this afternoon. I fished the pond closest to the road. I caught one on a small silver super duper with the red tip and caught the rest on a 1/4 oz rooster tail that was salmon colored. Biggest fish was 12 inches smallest kept fish was 10 inches. not too bad, it was fun. great day to be outside fishing.

way to go Steve, I fished there this afternoon also, the other pond tho. Used a small silver rooster tail with no bites, switched to power bait and got my limit in about 10min! almost too easy

thanks, took me two hours to get mine, but i only used lures. i was just happy to be outside in the sun.

What side of the town lake in Mckinney do you guys fish for trout? I was out there today and saw nothing but ducks n nutria. Any advice would be appreciated thanks!

I caught and released about 5-6 on a gold super. Caught one on the last cast as the place was closing.

It was a nice outside except for the wet ground out there.
