If I'm not mistaken the volunteers have to be Comanche Peak employees. My wife has already signed us up. That little woman loves to bass fish!!!!!

Any of you guys ever fished it? Bass should be ready to just hit almost anything if it has been closed since 9-11.

Won't be open until summer, and maybe not even then (was told they could change their mind if they don't get alot of public response in helping cleaning and fixing up the park). No unapproved tourneys out their either, probably will have to jump through quite a few hoops to get an approved tourney out there, and a good portion of the moneys will have to go to a charitable cause.

Q: When will it be open for the general public? A: As part of our commitment to surrounding communities, it is our intention to initially provide access to the public through fishing tournaments that benefit charitable organizations. Broader public access beyond this will be decided in 2010. More info here: http://www.luminant.com/news/newsrel/detail.aspx?prid=1144

The smallies and wallies probably gone. The lake is not exactly like everyone remembers. Our local Volunteer Fire Department has used it for practice scuba diving and the clairity is not even close to what it used to be. And the lake is not un-fished....just not overfished. But as a Somervell County resident who was promised the recreational benefits(just one of the benefits) of access to this private lake in exchange for the county allowing the Neuclear Power Plant to be built here...I am stoked about having this fishery so close to home open again! 361V
