Sorry guys--night fishing is out since he closes at dusk....
Also, make sure you the fish you keep are legal--saw quite a few small ones being taken the other day.

How far up or down is Reimer's from the state park?

Night fishing is not out for FishyTX. He will be up there in his boat. The key is to find someone who will take you in a boat....

Oh, the water's pretty high right now so a boat shouldn't be too big of a problem.
Brad--Reimer's is on the Perdanles River above Lake Travis. Take Hamilton Pool road off 71 and go a long way--you see a sign on the right.
It gets really crowded-in fact there wasn't one single parking place on the beach Tues PM. I can just imagine what this weekend's going to look like.....good luck...

Oh yeah, almost forgot... I fished reimer's earlier(on Thursday) from 5pm till dark...Only caught 3 fish 1 female_2 males... Not biting like they were Monday that's for sure...Talked to several people in kayas and boats, and slow slow,slow... The water-level has gone-up guite a bit,I'm guessing 2 or 3 feet. And the water is a lot less clear.Muddied-up a lot more than I would have figured... I talked to Mrs. Reimer and she said they actually got about 1-1/2 of rain down there Tuesday night and Wednesday... And I only got about 1/2" at my house...Go and figure... But on a good note,I did get a report from a friend(over the phone that is)...That he and 2 other people with him caught about 35 keeper whites(females vs. males unknown) at the rapids at Eugene's place, Thursday 3-3-05..He also said he was glad to see the river go up some more, being that should get more fish up there...Of course, he rents a house there on Eugene's Ranch...About 500 yards from the rapids... Unfortunetly, I can only get into the ranch when I'm with him.And he's working 6 days a week right now...And (usually) doesn't get back home till 5:30 or 6:00 p.m...But I told him to make sure and call me(Anytime, Day or NIGHT) ,when he plans on going back down there...And I'll probally won't go back fishing down there, until my friend invites me to fish down at the rapids...Or at least till the water clears up...Might just have to go try Irwin Bridge and/or Cedar Creek this weekend... What to Do?? What to Do?? FISHINGFOOL40

To: fishytx and Others interested...(Accept answers at your own risk)... __________________________________________________ Here are some questions fishytx asked over on (Reimers on Sunday). ------------------------------------------------------------- I have a few question guys. 1. Are yall wade fishing at Meltons place, or are you all fishing from kayaks? 2. I guess what Im trying to find out, is where does the lake meet the river? 3. Where does the main flow of water stop at? 4. Can a person take a bass boat all the way up to Henrys place? ------------------------------------------------------------- 1. I've waded and fished from the bank or (fished on those great ol' submerged rocks) when you can see or find them... 2.The lake meets the river (under water) very deep there and hard to determine the extra spot... Funnny guy, it actually meets real close to Camp Perdanales...Which is the closest boat ramp access...Unless you own property with your private boat ramp on the river... 3.Mansfield Dam... Funnny guy again...There's a flow control site in Johnson City (Joct2) http://waterdata.usgs.gov/tx/nwis/uv?dd_...ite_no=08153500 And I'm guessing the (Main flow???) stops just downstream from Milton's place where it starts to get wider and deeper) 4.As long as it floats... Seriously, as long as you drive slow(motor trimmmed-up) and the water-visiabilty is 3 to 4 feet from the surface. There shouldn't be a problem... I will be down there tonight for some sunset fishing. Not enough time for the double kayak so I will wade or bank it. I will be fishing spinners again as I have had good results with them so far. Saturday I plan to kayak upstream a bit so have fun everybody. Muddy or not here we come.

Oh I'm going fishing Saturday, rain or shine. Heck if I can't catch whites, then I can always fish for black bass on the river downstream. In fact, I had plans on doing a little of that any ways. I hate to hear the water is somewhat stained though. I myself like it when it's clear. But I also know what colors to use in stained water, so I'll try everything I know to do in order to catch some whites tomorrow. I try not to tell all my fishing secrets, but I'll share one with ya'll today. When you have thrown everything in your power at those fish with no success, then its time to break out the ol chartreuse dynamite, great bait, works every time. Hehee, did ya like that one? Okay, ok, I'll quit clowning around.
